Probably because it sounds less racist. What do I know, I'm not American.

Scratch what I just said. I have no clue.

From now on, Asians will be called Yellow, Whites will be called ... White and Blacks will be called Black.

There. Done.

Well, when you have civil rights activists like Al Sharpton stand up and insist that we call them that, and constantly point their fingers accusing people of being racist... it gives me the impression that "African American" is the proper term. Because after all, a large majority of blacks (especially down here in the south) are Africans whose ancestors were brought here as slaves.

Yeah, me either. He tries to act like everyone who isnt black is racist. But I'm sure there's white activists who are the same way. He just seems to get the most attention.

Most times I use 'african americans' as opposed to 'black people', I really can't explain why - I just do. I feel bad for saying black people, so I just don't. I know I'm weird, I am just like such a prude about some things.

Identifying someone by their color doesn't bother me and it shouldn't bother you.
Unless, of course, you think there is something wrong with color.

u could do that in a thread where people aren't specifically discussing something. i think there's plenty of threads over petty subjects that u could post in, since ur essentially not interested in the actual topic, and only posting to post, not to contribute.

Doesn't look like you're posting to contribute to the topic right now, either. See? Now look what you did. You're moving the thread off topic. Shame on you.
