(I tried searching for a similar topic already, sorry if I missed it)

I've noticed that a lot of people on Createblog type with proper grammar (ie. capitalization, periods, commas, etc.).

Do you type properly on Createblog? Does it really matter?

Me, it's kind of a habit to type with proper grammar. Sometimes, when I feel lazy or when I'm AIMing, I'll type all lowercase with just periods.

I think it's perfectly fine to type without proper grammer, but I just hate to see somebody "TYiiPiiNG LYiiK3 THiIZZx @Ndddd&& tryingggg ttoooo bee all coooollll."

Of course, I always type properly when I compose something for school.

Yes. Most of the time, actually. I have a habit of typing grammatically correctly on createblog, but not as much on AIM or Myspace or whatever I go on online.

I don't think it matters all that much as long as you can spell and punctuate decently, but sticky font is a no-no. It makes you seem immature and/or stupid to other forum members.

I tend to type properly because I'm just a perfectionist when it comes to these things. Dunno why.
On AIM, I only capitalize names of people and places but still punctuate properly.

I only type properly on CreateBlog.
On AIM, I type lowercase with puncatuation and I'll capitalize things that need to be like movies, songs, etc.

But typing correctly on here helps me so that I don't screw up when I'm typing my homework and essays.

The only thing I'm really lax on is capitalization. Other than that, I type in full sentences, with corerct spelling, etc. I make typos, obviously, but in terms of the actual sentence structure and what have you, it's all right and proper.

I enjoy grammar. Some of you may have noticed that. Lol.

I type with proper grammar online, especially on cb.
However, I don't capitalize my words on AIM, and I do abbreviate words on AIM too.

Basically, anything besides AIM should be in proper grammar for me, maybe not correct, but I tried.

*does it for the sake of the topic*

I guess it depends on what I'm typing about. I often tend to get very lazy and type with all lowercases, and no periods... but the commas tend to stay.

As for the whole AIM thing I try my best to stay away from typing like "yo how yah doin 2day?!" The only words i tend to shorten will be, you, your, yeah, and a few other words. But I can understand why typing like "TYiiPiiNG LYiiK3 THiIZZx @Ndddd&& tryingggg ttoooo bee all coooollll." can be annoying.

Before it was cool to tYp3 l1k tH15.

I try to type in proper grammar and punctuation because then my brain doesn't get mixed up. It makes writing essays that much easier. And it also makes the people who read what you wrote more likely to read it.

Psssh, you MUN kids are way too stuck-up about grammar! rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

I can't help but type properly anymore; it just doesn't feel right unless I'm not. There are times when I've typed too quickly and consequently made mistakes, but as a general rule a check and re-check for errors before replying.

There was a period around the 7th grade when I type very, very, badly, LyKe ThIs (ah, the classic example), and whenever I'd try to type essays, they'd always come out wrong. _dry.gif Since then, I've always typed in complete sentences and such and such.

Mmm, and I have a confession to make. I still remember when I first talked to Arjuna on AIM; he typed in complete sentences and all that and for some reason everytime I'm on AIM I have an urge to type like I do on cB. blink.gif

For the most part, I think I am, but at times I'm lazy to capitalize my "i" or the beginnings of sentences. At times I do tend to leave incomplete sentences that trail on like this... depending on the topic and what I have to say.

Yeah, I try to on websites and such. On AIM I don't.

I think it's really important. It bugs me when others don't. I even hate it when I make a typo

...which is often. laugh.gif

I always try to type properly. Like.. everywhere. MySpace, LiveJournal, cB, my AIM profile.. I sometimes capitalize properly on AIM, but most of my IMs are sentence fragments, so it doesn't really matter..
I capitalize/lengthen words to emphasize on a meaning sometimes.

A lot of my friends think I'm weird for typing properly. XD.gif

Haha, I hate when people type like that.

To answer your question, yes I do type in proper grammar... or at least I'd like to think I do. Sometimes I don't capitalize my I's or forget to include an apostrophe.

I also hate it when people use this as an apostrophe: ` (so it would would look like this) I`m so crazy or I`m glad It`s my birthday.

Instead of using the correct apostrophe sign: ' (so it would look like this) I'm so crazy. or I'm glad It's my birthday.

I always type properly, I use the correct punctuation and capitalization. The only exception to the rule is when I'm chatting to people on MSN, I don't capitalize on messengers but I do use correct punctuation and whatnot.

I might as well type properly, I don't want to get into a habit of text message grammar, that's bad.

I think it's inexcusably stupid when people say "mai" instead of "my", "yooh" instead of "you", and "hai" for "hi". It's not even shorter. If you're going to use atrocious grammar, at least shorten it.

I tend to type with properly capitalized, properly punctuated sentences for cB, but in aim I tend to drop the capitalization.

pretty much agree with the consensus. proper grammar, except with capitals and such.

plus, to type incorrectly takes more effort for me, simply because i would have to think about what i was typing and how i was going to type and lv th vwls ot or SwiTch bTWEen CapItals N SuCH.

i'd rather just type so that people can read it.
