for my english class there is a group project to bake a cake (fat teacher). my group made it yesterday without me (change of plans i was not notified of~). lol. _dry.gif i'm pretty upset, they didn't even apologize. it's a 100 point assignment. i don't want my grade to suffer for something i have nothing to do with. i want to make my own cake and blow their shit out of the water.

are good working in groups? obviously, i'm terrible. i prefer going solo or just one other person.

Aw, I'm sorry they didn't let you know console.gif

Sometimes I like working in groups though, because you all can contribute information to the project. I always feel awkward if I'm placed in a group of people I don't know (cause sometimes teachers just pick cards for groups) and then you have to go over to their house to finish the project. It esspecially feels weird when they're all friends and you're like odd man out.

Sometimes it's hard to work on something with friends too, because then you end up goofing off and not getting it done. Or you're like "Let's just do the freakin' project" and they're just messing around.

I hate working in groups. I'm not anal about my grades, but I seem to always get stuck with a slacker, and I don't want my grades to suffer because of something I have no control over. I work alone, and I like things that way.

In 5th grade, I had to work in a group full of slackers. I ended up doing all the work and getting an A when everyone else got Ds. laugh.gif

Usually, I'm good at working in groups. There are times though when I don't. pinch.gif

Yeah, working in a group of slackers saved me from failing Science seventh grade. It's funny, really. I worked my butt off finishing this HUGE project that my other group members didn't even bother to talk to me about, and so I got a 150%. On the Science test, I managed to get a D (of course I didn't study), but got a 97% anyways because the project was weighted so heavily.

Generally, I work well in groups, but when it comes to projects, I like to do it alone. It makes me feel better knowing everyone (in this case, just me) is doing what their jobs are. That way you don't have to check up on people all the time.

When I work by myself, I end up procrastinating.
When I work in a group, I'm more encouraged to finish my share of the work because if I don't it'll bring everyone's grades down. But I don't like working in groups because you have to make sure that everything is doing their work.

Eh, I'm undecided.

^lol that made me snort.

But yeah, i'm pretty bad when I work in groups.
I just don't like depending on other people to get stuff done. . .
I mean I get a long with them pretty well,

But I do much better just working solo.

working in groups is good, cuz like other people are doing the work, but when someone slacks, the pressure is on you/us/ and our grade goes down of that one person, i like working my self most of the time, but like......yeah

I'm okay. It depends who. I hate it when I get people who are always busy on the weekends and they're always like "OMG LET'S GO TO SOMEONE'S HOUSE! THAT WOULD BE SO FUN!" And then they look at me like I'm supposed to just give them my keys. Uhhhhh, no.

I like groups when the people are fun & dedicated at the same time.

I love it when I work with a group of fun but productive people for projects. :)
People in my school seem to stick with their same bunch of friends for different projects, but I prefer trying to work with different people. It's great fun. :D

i love working in groups.
my old group in my smart people classes was the best.
i'd talk to my bestie, other people would do the work, we'd copy.

i hate working in groups. im pretty smart; i usually end up with the.. people that arent as smart? um yeah. so they end up "copying" whatever i do and it pisses me off.
but when im in a group with smart people, we do a good job together so i like that too..
i hate working with partners- especially my "best friend" --- shes really smart but she procrastinates, copies everyone [its really annoying], and is really, really, r e a l l y bossy! i hate her now -_-;; but then again, when i work by myself i always procrastinate, and i dont have good ideas. but ill have to say i like working by myself because i dont need anybody else bossing me around =p

Working in groups is okay, just depends who you work with. Sometimes i'd do all the work, sometimes i'd do little and sometimes i'd do a fair share. it just depends who are your group members.

I'm usually okay working in groups, but for university so far, I don't like it. Firstly, we all live terribly far from each other so its hard to get together outside of school, and our groups get picked for us and I somehow end up being the only person who wants to work and knows what to do...so it gets frustrating. pinch.gif

I thought this was going to be about cake. Boo to misleading thread titles. cry.gif

I prefer working alone so I can go at my own pace and wouldn't have to rely on others. But working in a team is beneficial if everyone both contributes and communicates well. They are key to a successful team. I'm sort of glad I'm not in high school anymore.

I don't like working in groups for school, especially not with the class I have this year. If we're being assigned our groups I pray not to get one of the annoying, irresponsible people in mine. If we get to choose them it's slightly better, but there's almost always that one person who doesn't research what they're supposed to and just brings the whole group down in general. I hate that. I'd rather work on my own since I know I'm going to actually get the work done.
