I think you SHOULD respect someone's beliefs. That doesn't mean you MUST agree with the what they believe. But using name calling shouldn't be acceptable and from what I've learned about this forum, it isn't.

Secondly, this a debate forum where opinions are allowed. I don't care if you think they are not good opinions or not, they are YOUR opinions and I don't bash you for them but I do disagree with them.

I can't prove certain things about my religion, just as you can't prove certain things about you[if you are agnostic, atheist, ect.] because they are simply not explained in depth. I am not a Christian anymore but I was one for almost 2 1/2 years and I know in the Bible it says that you should respect others because Jesus loves everyone and he asks us to be more like him and obey his commandments. For one..."love your neighbor" is one of the 10 COMMANDMENTS which means if you don't go by it as a Christian, you are making one of the biggest sins of all since it is one of the 10 commandments. Just thought I'd point that out to ya!

Ok. I am not judging your religion or anything and that's not why I said you should prove it. This is a debate and normally that's what you'd do to stand up for your beliefs since there are so many others who don't believe in it. I do not believe respect should be something you earn. Respect should be towards other people no matter how wrong you think they are. Now, if the person is bashing you, then I don't think that person deserves your respect because that is self-defense. Why whould you respect a belief that has no grounds whatsoever? He gave humans a second chance, we wouldn't be ALIVE if he didn't, he could've said, "oh, all humans are the same, might as well not give them a chance to live!" • With the ability to love comes the ability to make choices, after all you can't love someone without being able to make choices.
• With the ability to make choices comes the ability to sin.
• With the ability to sin comes the need to judge people for their sin
  • People need to be treated fairly and equally.
  • Ultimately, the sins you commit need to be payed for so that everyone can be treated fairly.
