I been wondering about this for quite a while.Do ghost/spirits exist? Can they possibly be one next to you right now but you just cant see it?

It's possible that there is a spirit here right now, but I kinda doubt it. Well.. just thinking about it is creeping me out.

I've been scared of 'em for quite some time, actually. My closet door is sort of the entrance to the attic, so I block it with my desk.
I can't really say if they exist or not because I haven't seen one.

I'm just really, really paranoid when it comes to the supernatural.

i think they do. well in the sense i think people are still around their familys after they pass on. my grandmother passed away in october and my youngest sister was born in november of the same year. when my sister was two she would tell my mom that grandma rita was talking to me last night we talked about her white truck. my grandmother actually had a white truck but we never told my sister that. it has freaked me out ever since.






but yeah i don't belive in ghosts trying to hurt you, but then again that can be argued that i just don't want to belive that they would want to hurt you.

I do believe in ghosts & spirits but the ones where the people search for them on T.V. I don't believe in. You know how they talk about orbs? I photoshoped one of my pictures for MySpace and put lens flares in them and all my friends picture comments were like "ORBS!" I never told them that I actually added them myself.

i belive in spirits and not sure about ghosts, i'm too creeped out and scared to really think about it but i do belive in spirits, esp those of ones you love who come to visit. least that's me my mom's spirt is around and i know too because there's always signs. my mom passed away unfortunately during 9-11 and her brother came from the Philppines to visit and we were taking a picture with the family and the sky is clear and right after my uncle said a joke about my mom... and the camera clicked bird poop fell on his hand.. and there weren't any birds in the sky or around everyone around us was in shock and my uncle laughed and said thanks sis. love you. also my dad senses my mom's around when there's an aroma of flowers, roses actually, in my parent's bedroom. ionno but that's me.

i believe in them. this is what happened to my mom in the philippines. she was taking a nap one afternoon, she took a nap with my dad. after her nap she woke up and went downstairs to get something to eat and went in to the livingroom. she was so confused because she saw my dad downstairs in the living room. and she said "weren't you just upstairs?? how'd you get down here so fast??". and my dad said he was in the living room watching tv the whole time while she was taking a nap. and she started freaking out because she said my dad was hugging her and stuff.

she ran back upstairs and no one was there........ then she loooked at the date and it the date her dad died....

i was so freaked out by this when she told me about this.

Generally, I think the whole paranormal community, in relation to honest scientific inquiry, healthy skepticism, and a sophistication in peer review or methodology of research, is painfully lacking. I think the largest appeal to the supernatural and paranormal is emotional, and, because of this, the study of these fields is often bastardized and unsatisfactory.

I certainly believe there exists a multitude of unknown and peculiar phenomena which our modern natural sciences can not even begin to imagine, let alone detect. However, I don't believe in the same success most hardcore paranormal investigators relate in reguards to the supernatural existence of "ghosts" and or "spirits."

When I was younger, I was sure my home was haunted. I could share a plethora of fanciful and frightening stories with you in reference. But, as I was young, I had quite the imagination, and further, quite the impression. Although I still find my past experiences to be odd and often difficult to decipher, I certainly do not believe that any of them could be defined as being a visitation or manifestation of the modern conception of the "spirit." I grew up.

When calculating and analyzing the modern conceptions of "ghosts" and "spirits" it becomes painfully obvious these models are very man-made and mythological archetypes. They represent and reflect perfectly our human fears, insecurities, mysteries, and curiosities. But, more seriously, the complete and utter lack of sufficient evidence, despite the centuries devoted to mediation towards, for the existence of these concieved mystical beings demands a suspension of belief.

All evidence anecdotal and easily reduced by the rationalist theories of David Hume or the swift blade of Occam's Razor.

If "they" do exist, which they may certainly, they would be so unlike what we have already imagined that their existence may forever go unnoticed (quite possibly a discovery in modern physics will lend a hand?). However, as of now, we haven't a reason to believe such beings exist, so, I must abstain from such a belief. Not to say, I wouldn't want to believe, cause, f**k, that would be super cool? Huh?

I'm a Christian first of all. I believe that there are evil spirits but they are not people that died and were stuck here on earth, I believe there is only 2 places a person goes when they die, heaven or hell. The evil spirits on earth are the devil or the devil's workers, demons...the good spirits would be God's angels.

Well, if that's what that means, wow...I mean you want to share your beliefs but the other person can't because there "Christian". It makes me sick how many Christians are hated just because what they believe :-/

After thinking about it a little more, I believe there is only a demonic presence upon this earth. For the most part. I believe that angels also have visited our plane of existence many times.

The Bible refers many times of demonic possession. One such time where a man was possessed a demon was called out of the man and transfered into a pig.

Two angels were sent to tell Mary that Jesus was risen.

Also, I think it might have been in one of the books of Kings where King Saul went to a fortune teller or psychic and had him call Samuel. For that Saul was killed in battle.

So, there are accounts in the Bible that speak of such things. Now, it's up to you whether you belive in the Bible or not.

I don't think that people's souls or spirits inhabit the earth after they die, because that would contradict the Bible. The Bible only speaks of two places our souls go after death. Earth isn't one of them.

I know, I know Acid Bath. You don't believe in it. I'm just giving my opinion. I really don't know why this is in the debate section cause there is really nothing to debate. This person is just looking for our opinions and that's all we can really give. Haha. Oh, well.

That's exactly what I believe however before I became a Christian I believed that there were ghosts but you know after becoming a Christian and understanding the Bible it does make sense, I mean if Heaven & Hell exist, why would God let us stay on earth if we are bad people and hate him...to me that's not punishment.
