My dad left yesterday for Taiwan for his business trip, but I don't think it was a coincidence that it happened to be the day before Chinese New Years. They're hella partying it out over there lol. I WANT TO GO BACK!!! I don't care if this makes me look fob either...hopefully I'll get to spend it in Taiwan next year when college apps are done.

I must have had like 204823049 kinds of chinese food/dessert yesterday and today. At least it's not as fattening as American food. There was like 10 different kinds of nian gao.

I tried making raddish cake (lo buo gao) today, it came out all mushy, uncooked and way too oily.

Haha every chinese new years when relatives give me those red envelopes, they tell me to put it under my pillow. AnYwAy, new years..we had homemade dumplings with like 234838599 other people. Then my friends and I drove places and baked stuff while everyone else talked. Not very chinese of us....my entire neighborhood kept setting off fireworks ALL of Saturday night and Sunday though.

Stupid Eddie....you never added Seth to the list (Lord_Swift)

Bai leen = Bai lian

It's when you go to someone's house, and say "kung hei fat choi/gong xi fa cai" or those new year phrases and the married couples would give you red packets.
