&& from tutorials that i've seen, things are prettty much exact, except the appearance is different. |

Some things, you can. Some, you can't. Well, actually, you can, but it would be much harder. Photoshop 7.0 is definately way more better than 5.0..

There's no definitive list of changes between Photoshop 5.0 and 7.0, but you can check out the significant changes in release history on wikipedia to see the major differences between the versions.

I use to use 5 when 7 was the most popular one out. If you tend to use brushes a lot your may have a harder time finding brushes that will help in the long run.
Although there isn't really any definite change, you can do almost all the same things. |
