So I'm thinking of becoming a Nutrionist/Dietician (is there a difference?) & I'm a sophomore in high school, but I figured it was a good idea to plan ahead a little bit since senior year will just be around the corner. Basically, here are my questions that I hope you guys can answer.
![]() Background: My mom alluded the job to me a couple weeks back and the more I think about it, the more I like it. I love the medical field. I think it's amazing and I definitely have an interest in it. It's just that I don't know what type of doctor I'd be, science isn't my best subject area & there's too much schooling involved for me, personally. I know that being a Nutritionist involves science, but I'm better at chemistry/anatomy than let's say, physics. Plus, the stuff I'll be learning would be easily applicable to daily life. It's also a little bit different than your average answers of "I want to be a teacher or a doctor or a lawyer!" My epiphany was last week, when I opened a pamphlet of church events. One of them included a mission trip to Nicaragua and the type of people they'll be looking for included doctors and nutrionists. About two weeks ago, I went on a retreat and one of the topics discussed during the retreat was glorifying God through your career. I remembered my small group leader said that he decided to major in art, which was a hobby of his; but his epiphany was when a lady came in and spoke to the class about the projects her company does, one of which included Veggie Tales. At that time, I was debating between a couple of careers, which included Nutritionist, but I didn't know how any of them would glorify God. I guess that pamphlet was the final key. I saw it as a sign, from a religious perspective. So I know a lot of people aren't Christians and are probably reading this, thinking it's a bunch of bull-crap. Why base your career off a stupid religious pamphlet, right? Well no, I had a growing interest in this career before, but coming from a religious background, that pamphlet just help me to finalize my decision is all. That's pretty much it!
