So what do you people like to talk about with strangers? Like what kind of topics float around when you get to know someone new? Any age acceptable in the examples

Lately, with people at school, I just ask them how their holiday break, Christmas, New Year's, etc. turned out. I have a bunch of little anecdotes to tell, so the other person usually starts telling me stories about their break, too.

Usually I only talk to someone if something about them catches my attention (i.e. they're reading a good book; they're wearing a t-shirt or hoodie from a really good band; or they're just playing DDR).. and whatever they're doing.. leads me to inquire more about the subject. shrug.gif Talking to strangers isn't all that fun, though. mellow.gif

I don't really talk to people at school, but I will talk to random people at the store. Sometimes people will just randomly say something to me or I'll say something to them. Usually it's based on something they're wearing, or buying, or doing.

Tonight when I was at the grocery store I was taking little peices of onion skins (the ones that are left all over the little bin) and blowing them around and some random guy was laughing at me and we just started talking. Weird.

Sex positions we like to engage in (I personally prefer the doggy style; missionary is always nice, too), and hopefully, but often, she requests that I show her an example and I gladly accept the invitation.

It depends what kind of strangers, if they're from school and I see them around and decide to start up a conversation I'd probably ask what class they have now and such. If its outside I usually just introduce myself. Myspace wise...I just say "hey. whats up" _unsure.gif

I used to be really shy, but now I'm pretty chatty with new people. I don't even know how we come up with the conversation topic, but it just comes and I realize after a while that I've been talking a LOT. Perhaps I'm too friendly. ^^;

Same here. I'm usually really quiet and let other people talk unless it's something I could or would talk about. I'm not that good with starting or holding conversations. I'm just the listener.

^ haha.

Strangers usually don't approach me..
nor do i approach them. I start with telling them my name. uh yeah. I guess they're in my class or something, and then i talk to them about that. I don't talk with strangers off the streets..except i say like Good Afternoon! and stuff like that. Or i talk about whatever they're already talking about

Since I stopped using public transportation to go to work the number of random conversations has gone down significantly for me. However I do not miss raving sycophants telling me how the muslims are infiltrating in our goverment or how the bus seats are melting. ;_;

Well, recently, I've met most new people at university open days, and so we chat about courses, and where else we're applying, etc.

At a party, or whatever, it usually tendsto be a group conversation, so everyone mingles, rather than going directly up to someone and saying 'hello, im a creepy stranger, do you like cheese?', or similar.

laugh.gif I still use public transportation (until June with the eliminate a lot of the routes). I don't know what to say to the crazies. Although I've had to say, "don't touch me!" a couple of times when this guy kept rubbing my neck (he ended up getting off the bus at one of the hospitals).

Hmmm, well I'm really awful conversation starter. I'm so akward it's maddening (always has been). One time out of nowhere I just told a guy, "I'm not a retard." I sort of looked sideways and walked off. ermm.gif I've also done things like go up to a complete stranger and say, "today is the last day of my period. Can I have a hug?"

I'm retarded.

I never knew you used public transport! I used it for most of the year when I was working at the shoe store, and it was definitely an interesting experience. Lots of interesting people for sure, and some of them actually became familiar after so long taking the same route together! XD

And LMAO Rebecca, that's so adorable. XD

omg.gif

I've had some strange conversations on public transporation, too, but some do turn out rather nicely. Like Dani, I actually met a couple of people who take the same route every day as my brother and I. They were friendly, and I wish I still kept in contact with them. sad.gif
