I would either choose both, or Tokyo. Tokyo I think gives off a little more towards the normal society, seems like its a little high in everyones opinions.

Although I think it would be interesting to visit either one some day.

QUOTE(yanners @ Dec 17 2006, 6:16 PM) *
how do you compare a city with a country?

which one's the city which one's the country? last i heard they were both cities.

i would pick hong kong. not just because i'm from there... but in addition to all the cool japanese gadgets we also get all the cool american/english stuff (& lots of designer shit). we're far more diverse. oh and NIGHTLIFE<3 the bars, the clubs... not just cheap japanese hooker bars either. and sometimes japanese people freak me out in tokyo blink.gif have you seen those girls that dress up in err... LOLITA? disgusting. oh and the girls who wear a giant hellokitty costume out... or those girls that paint their faces brown n dye their hair blonde. & once when i was in tokyo i saw this man beating up an elderly old man with an umbrella cry.gif oh and more people in HK speak english. in tokyo im so lostt.
..i guess once you leave HK after living there for 12-13 years you realize how wonderful it is.

QUOTE
Way too overcrowded for my liking. Tokyo is one thing, but the population density in HK is ridiculous.

are you sure? bcos i've been to both places multiple times and the streets of tokyo always seems far more crowded..

im a 100%hong konger and im 100% satisfied with that.
at least u won't be threatened by volcanoes, hurricanes or earthquakes here haha :D
u can find hong kong people more frank. they show everything on their faces. they seldom pretend.
and hong kong is so small that you can easily know every road and street (haha maybe not but u know wt i mean) and have a familiar and warm feeling to the city yet u wont be bored by it. never.
