You mean make areas that you can type into?
You could make tables or divs into different sections and write those things inside of them... Could you explain it better? |

Well..
When I type in each blog, I want to assign that blog into one category. For example, there are 3 categories in my blog, i.e. My Life, My Feelings, My passages.. And..there is a list of catagory menu in the nevigation bar at the left hand side. When I click in each category, the relevant blog of each category will be shown. I know my words may make confuse.. Thanks for reading~ |

To the best of my knowledge that's not possible on xanga. try a regular website.

^ Right. In Xanga, the HTML assigned to the blog has one name - it's impossible to separate the one entity into 3 separate ones. Now, you can make collapsible tables with text, but it wouldn't be a true blog. You could make it look like a blog, though.

Well, I thought of a better idea. It's called "New Div Layers On-Click." Basically, when you click a link, a new section of content would appear, and the old section would dissappear all on the same page. It's kind of like a frame page, but instead of frames with links, it's no[b/] frames [b]with links.
CODE <div style="overlow: auto; top: 0px; left: 0px; border=0;"> <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- // This code can be reused and modified as long as the copyright // notice and URL are maintained. // This code is copyright 1998 InsideDHTML.com, LLC. // http://www.insideDHTML.com var pageCount = 7 var allSupport = (document.all!=null) var layersSupport = (document.layers!=null) function getElement(elName) { // Get an element from its ID if (allSupport) return document.all[elName] else return document.layers[elName] } function setVisibility(el, bDisplay) { // Hide or show to tip if (bDisplay) if (allSupport) el.style.visibility = "visible" else el.visibility = "show"; else if (allSupport) el.style.visibility = "hidden" else el.visibility = "hidden" } function movePage(what) { if ((allSupport) || (layersSupport)) { for (var i=1; i <=pageCount; i++) setVisibility(getElement("page"+i),what==i) return false } else return true } function doResize() { location.reload() } // Work-around Netscape resize bug if (layersSupport) setTimeout('window.onresize=doResize',1000) // --> </SCRIPT> <A HREF="#p1" TARGET="_blank" ONCLICK="return movePage(1)">Click for the First Page</a> <A HREF="#p2" TARGET="_blank" ONCLICK="return movePage(2)">Click for the Second Page</a> <A HREF="#p3" TARGET="_blank" ONCLICK="return movePage(3)">Click for the Third Page</a> </div> <DIV ID=page1 style="margin-top:##px; margin-left: ##px; height=##px;"> <A NAME="p1"></A> First Section of Content (Automatically Displayed upon page loaded) <u>Things you can edit:</u> 1. The Content Sections (like the one that this text is written in). YOu can make this section look like a blog. 2. The Margin number values in each of the div layers - with these, you position the places where your content is. It's more trial and error than anything else. </DIV> <DIV ID=page2 STYLE="visibility: hidden; margin-top: ##px; margin-left: ##px;"> <A NAME="p2"></A> Second Section of Content </DIV> <DIV ID=page3 STYLE="visibility: hidden; margin-top: ##px; margin-left: ##px;"> <A NAME="p3"></A> Third Section of Content </DIV> Okay. This is set up to display the first page of content automatically. When you click on your different links, the other two pages will appear as well. Now, you can add more pages, but I just made it three. Do not edit anything else except for the things listed below (unless you are very HTML literate). Things you can edit: 1. The Content Sections (where it says "First Section of Content" and so on). You can make this section look like a blog - you can put anythign there, text, pictures, music. 2. The Margin number values in each of the div layers - with these, you position the places where your content is. It's more trial and error than anything else. Remember, the longer that the first page gets with content, the more you will have to move up the second and third pages... this is done by making the "margin-top" numbers in each of page the div layers negative. That is, of course, if you want each page to display on the same part of the website. |
