2007 is approaching soon .. how would you describe how hip hop was in 2006? imo, it was wack .. but not as bad as 2005 .. album of the year was definetely food and liquor by lupe fiasco and fishscale by ghostface killah. I'll even consider hip-hop is dead and kingdom come. Remember when people considered the year of 2005 hip hop to be the "South's Year" .. wasn't likely in 2006, I mean YES a lot of dope southern cats came out ILL .. but you can't put 2006 into being "south's year" again .. watch, East will come back!
Final thoughts .. results .. Album of the Year: Lupe Fiasco-Food & Liquor (Lupe is the rookie of the year man .. gotta give props to Lupe. He did big things this year, but we'll what he can do in 07) Mixtape of the Year: Little Brother-Separate But Equal (hands down ..) Producer of the Year: Timbaland (self-explanatory .. well not really =/) Rapper/MC of the Year: Jay-Z (Roger Clemens ..) |
