background and weird sidebar problem., the battle between firefox and explorer Options

so i went to test my new layout on firefox(which came out fine) and then explorer (which did not come out that well) on firefox everything is in place while in explorer, all i see are very large white spots. Im not sure if it the code or the reason that I downloaded the explorer by Yahoo! or i an extra white somewhere. also, how to I keep an image that can only stay in a corner. I keep coming out with the backgroud as tiled not in a corner. is this becuase of my screen size is over the norm? could someone check if thats why? the link is under the the thing that says -edit-.
