Some of it's funny to laugh about with your buds because of how low their education is.

I don't mind Rap but it's not something I'll listen to constantly. I'll listen to like one or two songs, but that's about it. I just, don't care much for it. v.v;

yeah that's pretty much how i feel about it.

i like it. a lot of people only hear the stuff on the radio and that stuff for the most part sucks which makes them think the rest of it sucks. but if you look further you can find some good stuff.

Wow. You totally took the words out of my mouth. I love Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Eminem, Public Enemy, Nelly, Paul Wall, Mike Jones ... etc etc. I know, totally mainstream, but yeah. tongue.gif I'm more in the rock scene though.

its really sad to read all the posts where people are saying they dont like rap because all it focuses on is sex, money, cars, and girls. how much more ignorant can people get?

Good point, but what makes me laugh is the people who say it degrades women are they same people who will call another girl a bitch ,ho, etc. Trust me I've heard it many times.

This reminds me when Ludacris and the cast of Crash was on Oprah, and they were dicussing the use of the N word in Hip Hop, and Sandra Bullock told Ludacris that Rap should do away with the word bitch, in which Ludacris responded, "Have you you used the word?" And she promptly said Yes. He put her in her place.

So in other words, if you're going to be a firm advocate of hip hop not using bitch and ho, I honestly think the word should never come from your mouth either.

EDIT//
OMG Suzzette, Young Jeezy is fire, he is the truth.

haha... yes b/c u can really interpret how much education these guys have from some stupid songs... i didn't realize you could run major record label with a low education or be an entrepreneur for other products as well, which many rappers are now becoming.

Lemme break down rap for those here bashing it incessantly. First, what you hear on the radio or tv is a very inaccurate way to guage your feelings on the genre b/c those songs are specially made for mainstream. so you could hear a whole album by someone that sounds nothin like the single cuz they needed something to play in the club. Second, rap isn't negative just b/c it talks about bitches, money, drugs, and the streets. In fact, thats not even all its about. Yeah you have a Young Jeezy, but on the flip side you also have a Little Brother. All anyone wants to bring up when rap is debated is the bad stuff. Well what about the Mos Defs, Talib Kwelis, and Dead prezs out there that stand for something positive, but are slow to be brought up in debates? If you are going to discuss a genre, you should examine it as a whole, not selective pieces.

I'm positive why most of the people hate rap is because of the "usual topics" that are always thrown in based on lyrics. Guns, Violence, Sex. But, I've always had respect for hip hop. Most people say "Rap" is not music. They say it's "ART". Because it is one of the elements that was born from the hip culture. (graffiti, breakdancing, others). We all know rap stands for rythym and poetry but I still consider rap to be music. There can be both positive and negative views on hip hop. Just look at the south right now. They are on its way to collapsing hip hop. Also, I've heard a lot of people talkin sh*t about the hyphy movement and e-40...it's time to bring the east back!!

I like some rap, but one type of rap I can't stand is Chinese rap. I know it sounds really racist, but I just don't like it.
