When was the first time you really thought you actually TRULY loved your significant other..and told them how you really felt?
Me, i really do mean I Love You when i say it to my boyfriend, but..there comes a time when people truly mean it..and our first fight came around last month, and..after we made up..i really knew how much he cared about our love, and i really told him i loved him. our 6 months is next saturday. :]. |

My boyfriend and I started saying it not long after we were together, but it wasn't serious, it was just kind of a cutesy thing. I think we both knew that we meant it after we'd been inseperable for months, like close to our fourth month mark.

With my ex-boyfriend, I never said it. He would say it to me but I knew he didn't mean it. I told him that I liked him alot but I didn't love him. That was about it. But I knew if I said it to him, I wouldn't mean it.
By the way, you watch One Tree Hill?! Nathan&Haley |

I said my first ily's when I was a freshman and my ex-bf was a junior. He told me that he meant it when he said it to me and felt it for the first time or whatnot. It was really sweet.

in 9th grade.... i still love him and always is going to be there for him, but stomeimtes i question WHY? hes an a-hole sometimes, but i still lovehim...[thats my ex]; now my new boyfriend of already 3 weeks says he loves me.... i know it soon but we've known each other for a while [so i guess it kind of gives him a reason to say i love you] i'm a sophmore and he says that he loves me... sometimes i wish i could say it back to make things 'feel' better but i rather not saying anything than something i dont mean

um maybe a months after we started going out we started the I love you's. He first said it on the phone the first time. It used to be ok.. yeah yeah I love you blah Blah..
But not I truely mean it. This is the reason we have been together for 1 year and a months and 2 weeks today. He is everything to me and I would never change anything. It was so worth everything that we went through. <3 |

before me and my boyfriend even started dating, we talked online/on the phone constantly. it seemed like we were going out and one night (after about a month) when we were about to hung up it felt right to say it. it was one of those moments where you both get caught saying it and stop yourself quickly but then realize that the other person feels the same way as you. once we became boyfriend and girlfriend, we said it regularly. after a big fight and we made up, he told me that he was in love with me and that's basically when we started to take the word "love" seriously.

oh man.
i remember mine. :] my now EX boyfriend, in 7th grade, we were together from like..fall-ish, to winter. 3 months, to be exact. haha. but i went and spent halloween with him. my friend came too. i didnt wanna be with his parents, by myself. :/ but he asked me to follow him. he lead me into his laundry room thing. which, i was like. crapp... he held my hand for a long time, looked into my eyes, and gave me something. it was a bag with a stuffed ghost, and a necklace. and he said "i love you." and he was going to kiss me..but his parents came in. oh man. :] hahaha. |

Personally I think I'd only abuse the 3 words
if I ever attempt to mean it. So I'll say it sarcasticly or think somewhere in my head "not really" when I say it. Too young to know the truth meaning behind the words. It seems so difficult to tell the difference between infatuation and actual "true" love. So at most I keep it within friends and family. Anywho, do you REALLY want to go up to that alter, and tell your signifigant other. "Though your the 17th guy I've said this seriously to, I love you." I guess I'll save those words until I feel sure it's the right moment to use it. But I must say, the dictionary's definition doesn't really help much in that department. |

My boyfriend didn't say i love you until 6 months of dating. I had said it the month before for the first time.
When i had said it i was really tired and was falling asleep talking to him on the phone and he said something really goofy and i said "i love you" not realizing it was my first time to say it, even though i was just saying it in a playful way. He was quiet for a moment and said "you don't really mean that do you" and I thought for a moment and said "yes, yes i do" I didn't say it again because he didn't say it back and i didn't want to rush him into it, but he knew how i felt about him and thats all i wanted. When he finally said it we were on our six month anniversary. He had gotten me a promise ring and put it on my finger and said he loved me. I don't like people rushing into saying I love you. |

my past relationships i was careful. i never said, 'i love you'. i just said 'love you'. i guess my jusitfication was that yes i loved them, but i was never in love.
but now i can honestly say i love this boy with all my heart. we said it about a month into the relationship. even after the really nasty fights, for some reason i still stuck around when usually id be out of a relationship in two weeks...8 months later and hes still my everything |

I loved my boyfriend even before we started going out and he was just a friend. He was a really good friend though, and we clicked immediately. I mean it every time I say "I love you" to him.

I've only actually loved one of my significant others out of 6 so far.
I told all of them I loved them, but only because they told me they loved me and I sorta felt obligated to say it back.... but with my bf, I actually started to mean it after about two or three months. |

With my ex, he said it after one month and it shocked me. I think we were on the phone and he said "I love you." I didn't say anything for a few minutes and then he asked me if I was still there. I wasn't ready to say it back yet and told him the truth. A month later, I told him. Meh, it was cute that he said it first, but kinda freaked me out.

I think it was 2 months into our relationship and he said it when dropping me home after a date. I was a bit freaked out and didn't say it back. For about 2 months after that I would use love you, I felt it wasn't as meaningfull as "I love you" but showed I really cared about him.
When I did finally say it, my boyfriend just gave me this really goofy smile and said it back. |
