I would appreciate if everyone took the time to read this
Just to brief you on what the following passage contains it is the online story of the "hand issue" between Kelly Ripa and Clay Aiken that was noted several times this week in ET. The following passage is cited: http://www.etonline.com/celebrities/news/37854/index.html Please feel free to skip passed the lines to get to the point. ________________________________________________ Is there a feud brewing between KELLY RIPA and CLAY AIKEN? The "American Idol" crooner sat in for REGIS PHILBIN as Kelly's co-host on Friday's "Live" show -- an appearance in which some viewers detected hostility between the two. Kelly later said she felt that Clay had been disrespectful towards her. "I don't think he was respectful in any way," Kelly said on Monday's "Live" show. Specifically, she took issue with Clay putting his hand over her mouth during an interview with "Dancing with the Stars" winners EMMITT SMITH and CHERYL BURKE. She added that she wouldn't want anyone's hand over her mouth, saying, "I don't know where that hand has been." On Tuesday, things heated up when Kelly called into "The View" to speak about the issue. ROSIE O'DONNELL stated that, as a gay woman, she found Kelly's response to be homophobic. Kelly was quick to retort, saying that for Rosie to imply that she was homophobic was "outrageous." "He's shaking hands with everyone in the audience," she replied, stating her case. "It's cold and flu season, that's what I meant, and to imply that it's anything homophobic is outrageous, Rosie, and you know better." Kelly noted that she has never asked Clay about his uality, and that regardless of ual orientation, his actions were out of line and unprofessional. Rosie told Kelly that while she respects her, she's sticking to her guns and sticking up for Clay -- adding that being on a live talk show is difficult for someone who does not have a great deal of experience hosting a live show. "I feel for the kid," she said. "He's in a very difficult space." ____________________________________________________ You're probably wondering why I would put this in a bulletin on myspace or let alone why I would even pay attention to such BS? The truth is just that, it's that grabs the attention of millions of viewers every day. Before I get started I would like to state that if your one of those millions of people out there that follow stories like this on the tele then you need to look deep inside yourself and find your own life. I think its funny that the media is hyping this story more than they hype president Clinton getting voted "out" of office. I constantly badger my mom for watching such stupid redundant filth, constantly asking her why she wastes her time watching it. This is how I came to hear about this story. I find it amazing that if someone famous is to put there hand over someone elses mouth in order to "shush" them that the media, along with thousands of viewers blow up in surprise and watch the story with eagerness to see exactly where it is going. I got one question for you: "WHO THE **** CARES?!" I want to point out that this is the mentality level of America and really states where the priorities of the citizens are. People actually watch shows like ET:Entertainment Tonight, Extra, etc. because they are interested. Why? Why are you interested in these people? Why do you care when they go to the bathroom, or if they cover up someone elses mouth, or if they battle with annorexia? The truth is, in the home of a typical American citizen you face worse problems then everyone of those celebrities put together. You say you watch these entertainment shows to get the "scoop" on these celebrities lives. Truthfully though, you watch it because you wish your life was just like theirs. You wish you could say your problems are only as big as: "someone putting there hand over your mouth", rather than having to face the problems of pregnancy, or suicidal thoughts, bullying or whatever your toughest situation is. Instead of trying to follow the life of a celebrity who doesn't even know you exsist why not follow the life of a child who suffers from cancer. Why not follow the lives of people who really suffer and who should really be on the TV screen for that half an hour to an hour. Why not use that time to write to a soldier overseas and tell them how much you appreciate them fighting for your freedom, fighting to avenge the thousands killed in 9/11. Paris Hilton sure isn't fighting for your freedom. Here in America we take so much for granted that other countries kill to have. Why do you think so many countries loathe us. It's because we have such a great thing they have never had: "the freedom to live your own life". Hundreds of Mexicans hop the border in order to come to America to lead a better life. Immigrants smuggle themselves in crates in order to get a taste of what we have. Im sure they don't come over here to get the "scoop" on some celebrities life. Most of these celebrities complain that their lives are terrible, but yet they eat 3 meals a day, they always have clean clothes, a roof over their head, and a warm bed to sleep in. Having those things is the perfect life for a homeless person. These celebrities complain about having terrible lives, but yet Im sure each and everyone of them had a turkey on thanksgiving. There are people in America that have never even got to experience thanksgiving. Bless the souls of the true heroes in America, the people who wake up each morning fighting to survive another day. I salute you. America. We need to raise the bar. Signed, Zack M. Nov. 24, 2006 |
