Yeah, it's pretty much illegal o.o

Tell your friend to be careful because 21+ year olds could be dangerous to date when you're below 18.

Age may just be a number, but I mean..it's illegal for a reason.

It's nice to believe that love shouldn't be hindered by a matter of age. But it does matter, in this type of situation more than most. It wouldn't be a problem if he were closer to her age, but twenty-two is too old. Especially for someone under eighteen. ermm.gif

Plus, with the age difference, I doubt the relationship would be very sucessful.

this one girl at my school is in that same exact situation; personally i think it is WAY odd, mostly because he acts like her dad instead of her boyfriend because she is not very mature.

That depends. It is illegal (statutory rape -- he's over 18; she's under 18), but if they don't do anything stupid then it should be all right. It's just what people would assume about her when they hear how old her boyfriend is.

Wow. Talk about lack of information.

It's NOT illegal to date. It's illegal to have sex. And who's to say that they'll have sex? Maybe they want to wait :)

Always so fast to assume the worst. Tsk tsk.

totally agree. they're on two different levels - emotionally AND physically.
i'm not saying this guy is a pedo, but why would he be interested in a girl of that age? ohmy.gif

yech the question is what is a 22 year old doing with a 15 year old? shes not old enough to drink, go to clubs, or even drive for that matter. So what do they even do??? (mysteries of the world pinch.gif ) I doubt that a 22 year old wants to hang out with her 15 year old friends and do the wonderful activities that a 15 year old would do. I think she should find someone her own age or at least someone who is closer to her age group.

Well, that is a big age jump. And naturally, society won't take that positively

I'll admit that I'm 20 and I date a 15 year old, but i'm deffinitly not a pedo... OMG, but seriously even thought the age difference between me and my girl friend is 5 years I still look down on poeple for doing the same thing as me. I guess it comes down to this...

I know my motives, but I don't know others. I know I'm not out to get it on... I really love my girlfriend, but hell most men are and that's why I look down on so many people who do date young... Ugh, most of them are looking for an ignorant girl to have sex with because they're sick bastards... There is a reason why the law is the way it is... I would say:

yeah, age is just a number, but don't be ignorant... watch your ass, and don't get caught up in some fake love relationship. also, check out this post I made:

It depends, and here is a good example. If both you and your partner are out of high school even a 7 year age difference doesn't really matter. If your out of college and your partner is 7 years younger than you and still in high-school you might be taking on a real challenge. The problem I see is that you are both at different stages in life. In this situation if you are the older of the two people in the relationship you will find that you occasionally belittle your partner without even realizing it. You don't do it on purpose. The things that are old to you are new to them. You have been through the situations that they are beginning to face.

I'm 20 and Holly is 15, and there are definitely times when I f**k up... Just last night I was helping her with homework, and when I asked for help on mine I think she was a little worried about helping because I'm in college (She's really smart though). This is just one of many situations we run into because of our difference in age. Things like that take a little getting used too. Sometimes I feel like I might give a little to much insite on things and I feel like I'm being more of a DAD than a good boyfriend. She yells at more for it, and I really appreciate that because otherwise I would have no other way of practice my boyfriend skills.

I'm sure we have gone though more tough times than we realize due to the age differences we share. Really when it comes down to it, you just need to accept your partner for who they are and treat them as an equal. You won't get it right at first, you may never be perfect, but you can always get better through practice.

Although I'm in a relationship with someone who is younger than me and love them very much, I would suggest suggest against getting into a relationship with someone who is a different stage of life than you are. It's difficult, and at times it's tough to relate to them. There are good things that come out of it, but for most I'm sure the difficult times would out-weigh them. I suggest getting to know the person you're thinking about getting into a relationship with before even considering it. Also, make sure that you aren't the type that looks down on someone for their age (example: Seniors looking down on freshmen.). If you are the type of person that made fun of all the freshmen in high school... I would definitely suggest against it.

The BOTTOM LINE:

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED!! DO WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT, AND LEARN FROM IT.

I don't know... I kind of have mixed feelings on it.
I'm nineteen and dating a 27 year old, but I don't really think a 15 year old should be dating a guy that much older than she is.
I don't care how mature she is, she's still only 15!
I think she should wait a couple of years.

My personal opinion; its shady on the guy's part. What business does a 22 year old male have with a 15 year old female other than being strangely attracted to a girl thats not even fully developed (physically, mentally and/or emotionally). I could care less how 'mature' she is, he's in the wrong for even taking a second look.

Five years.

But anyhoodle, they ended up getting married! So that was all for the better.. but then they divorced XD

Butyeah, there's nothing totally wrong with that in my opinion.
