So there's this one guy in my math class who I have a crush on. Fun fun.
I sat by him one day and we started talking. Turns out we have the exact same interests in music and multiple times we've jinxed eachother (like, someone asked us what band they should listen to out of the three, we both said the same one).
He'll steal my glasses and wear 'em all class, choose songs on my ipod, move the hair out of my face. In the hallway he stops by me and my friends and talks for a sec, along with doing things like shoving me into vending machins...But other times he just ignores me and listens to his music completely. Now, he mentioned he had a girlfriend once, but we don't really talk about that. We talk about his band and random things we both like, but I'd feel awkward randomly asking "hey, got a girlfriend?"
I'm just not sure if it's pointless flirting, if I'm one of the guys, or if maybe there's some potential for me.
Any input?

It's definitely good that you have so much in common and that you get along, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't see you as just one of the guys. If he did, he wouldn't do those little sweet things like get the hair out of your face (which I think is adorable, btw :3). About the times that he listens to music alone, everyone needs their own space sometimes.

As for the pointless flirting, does he treat any other girls this way? If he doesn't, that's a good sign. Maybe you should ask him to hang out sometime when you've gotten to know him better. Being in a more private setting away from school might move things along for you. If he continues to flirt with you (after more hanging out like this), go for him. If he doesn't, wait and see. But don't wait too long. If it seems like he's not going to make a commitment, move on and just keep him as a friend.

k so first... make sure he doesn't have a girlfriend.

then get to know him better.
if it's 'pointless flirting' he won't really care to hang out with you more, go places w/ you outside of school or talk more.
but if there's a reason behind the flirting, i'm sure he'll be just as happy to spend more time with you. :) have fun.

I think he has the same conflicting issue himself-- does he like you, or doesn't he?
That's why sometimes he wants to be alone (when he's in the "doesn't like you" mode) and sometimes he's flirty (when he does).

totallyyyy agree. see if your friends know him and see if they know if he has a girlfriend or not, if you feel awkward asking him.

i completely agree^ ask your friends if they know anything about him or if he has a gf or not, or if you know his friends ask them(thats if you feel comfortable of course). on the otherhand, if you keep him as friend for now who knows with time he could become your bf after you guys are friends.
