Since when did the democrats become liberal? Since when did they adopt their views completely?

And when did the liberals become the "bad guys"? We had liberals ruling in Canada for quite a while, and it was a whole lot better than it is now.

Actually, he is. I'll give you one example.

Initially, he said that the reason the Americans invaded Iraq was because of their possible posession of mass destruction weapons. Now. When they didn't find any, the reason suddenly became "to remove a brutal dictator". Which one is it?

Research your sources more next time.

Now from what I hear, its supposedly to make a new alliance / have a way of attacking Iran from Iraq. rolleyes.gif

True, but as much as I am not for this war I think if we just pulled out of there the place would fall apart and would be worse than when we got there. Sure, WOMD was his motive to go to war but the motive to stay at war changes.

^ I'm sorry, but how would you feel if your son or husband or boyfriend died for some idiot's lie?

I'm not saying that having troops in Iraq is a bad thing. But that doesn't justify his ... "reasons".

P.S. Somebody from the U.N. actually said that the place is in a worse condition now than it was before when Saddam was in power. Just saying.

Actually, my brother is in Iraq right now. I don't like Bush and I'm not saying that we should be over there. But what would happen if we just pulled out? I don't care about people who say that we should be over there to finish and "win" the war. That's a bunch of crap to me. I just think that if we pulled out now the place would fall totally apart. They have no government structure. They're killing each other and they never would have had an election if the troops weren't there to protect the people going to vote.

Thats got to be so hard, for him and your family. Thats great that he's willing to stand up and fight for his country. _smile.gif

Whether someone's for or against the war, we need to support our troops. They arent the ones making the calls over there.

I completely agree. I definately dont think we should be over there, Iraq at least. I think we're way too in over our heads to pull out asap, but I think we need to work on a plan to speed things up. We've been over there for over 3 years now, and they havent been able to handle things on their own so far... so what makes us think they'll ever be able to?

I hate to say this, but I think they'd be so much better off with Saddam in control. Yeah, he killed alot of his own people, but even more have been killed as a result of our presence. Not to mention our own troops.

And you think "democracy" is actually going to flourish over there? It's going to take years and years. If it ever works. Democracy doesn't work in all counries, but I guess we'll have to see the results.

I'm not saying the troops should leave now. I'm saying that the "reasons" Bush decided to invade are illogical.

Thank you. I got a voice mail from him Thanksgiving morning so I know he's okay. Hah, I'm such a dork I almost started to cry when I listened to it.

I also disagree with the reason Bush decided to go to war. I think that they need to let their country know things, though, more so than they do now. A lot of us are uninformed of what's going on.

I think we need to help introduce the idea of democracy to them and kind of let them take it from there for themselves. One of my brother's friends was talking about when he was over in Iraq on his first tour and said that they will probably end up having a civil war regardless if we're over there or not. He said that it might even help them. That America had their civil war and look where we're at now.
