Firefox 2, Anyone download it yet? |

I downloaded it yesterday and I was a little disappointed.
I really didn't like the way that you have to close the tabs. It's like an X in the upper right corner of each tab! Just like IE7. I had some problems with the bookmarks, tabs and toolbars, and I know for sure that it wasn't the theme that I was using. IE7 (when it first came out) didn't have as many errors as Firefox 2, which is why I was disappointed. I reinstalled FF 1.5 after I played around with FF 2 for a while. I'm installing FF 2 next week, when it won't have as many problems. I still prefer Firefox because the text is clear and the toolbar is more versatile. What did you guys think of it? |

I didn't know about it. Can you put up a screen print or something. From what you've said, I think I'll rather stick w/ the firefox I have now.

Hm, having the close box on the tab seems like a good improvement. I never understood why the close box wasn't on the tab in the first place.

I've had the little red x since 1.x thanks to an extension, so no real improvement there for me.

IE 7 sucks, its too decorated, looks like the aim browser, and the text looks really funky its like different colors and much lighter.
i like firefox but imma try downloading the second one i hope i like it. |

I haven't updated it yet. I've been using the Tab Mix Plus extension so I've always had the close tab feature; I've been able to close tabs from both the individual tab and the button in the corner.
If there are many bugs in it, I may just wait a while before installing it. |

^ That's what I'm doing. That's what I always do with new stuff. I never buy or download anything brand new until most of the bugs are fixed.

I had problems with it when I downloaded it last night, but I reinstalled it this afternoon and I haven't found any problems yet.

You can use this extension if you want the close box somewhere else.
 I don't think it'll take away the close box on the tabs though. You could probably find another plug-in for that.I've gotten used to it. It's a bit of a hassle, but I'm ok with it now. |

I LOVE it its awesome. did you realize when you have ten tabs on at the same time and each of them has a song played it only plays the song of the persons tab that you are looking at. so you dont have a jumble of songs.

That always bugged me, especially after I got so used to the X being on the tabs in Safari. Anyways, I have not downloaded the new firefox, No. But it looks kind of weird. Maybe I will check it out.

 I love this already. It's definitely an improvement. I haven't run into any bugs yet and I love the spell checker. I like the X on the tabs a lot better as well! Is it just me, or does it seem like the page alignment and scripts that used to go all out of order before are fixed? Everything looks just like it does on IE. At least, the sites I've tested so far. |

Ha ha I thought I had the lastest version of Firefox. I guess not.
I used to run on IE, but Firefox seems to run a little faster (I guess because I get less adware and that stuff) and the tabs. IE7 always crashes for me when I try using tabs. |

Not by much anymore, actually.
I think they fixed the memory leak. Right now, I've had FF2.0 open for about an hour, with 3 tabs. IE7 open for about 3 minutes with the same 3 tabs. Firefox is using 60,404K and IE is using 58,729K. |
