Well... this whole situation is a little immature, buttt...
About a month ago, I was with two of my friends, and we met this guy at the fair. He seemed interested in my two friends [who are WAYYYYYYY more prettier than me]. So... I went on the rides alone, while they went with the guy. During one of the rides, I lost my glasses. The guy, said that, if he found them, he'd give them to one my friends. I was supposed to get his email address before he left, but that didn't happen. The next day, I phoned my friend, and got his email address. I emailed him.. with my number, and the next day, he phoned me. We've been talking ever since, and finally, I told him that I liked him, just straight out told him. He said he liked me too. So yesterday, when I was online [so was the guy], my friend [one of the ones at the fair] came online. When she signed on, she didn't talk to me, but finally, after an hour of her not talking to me, she popped up randomly, and said, "would you ever date that guy we met from the fair?", and I said yes. So... later on that night, I phoned him, and we talked about it. He said, 'hey, I was told by your friend, I should ask you out", so... being a girl, I started laughing a blushing. Then he said, 'but I'm worried about the friendship, and the distance." [he's about 45 minutes away]. Now... my question is... how can I get him to stop worrying about the friendship... and actually start getting into a relationship? I mean... I really like this boy. It's not exactly love... yet. But he's really everything I'm looking for in a boy. He's funny, without being immature. He listens to your problems, he helps out. He compliments me [but I fish for them, lol] So if any of you have an answer to my question, it'd be greatly appreciated if you shared it! |

lmao well you cant push it! if u do then he might not want it. i suppose if your just reassuring him though. all you need to do is remind him that its only 45 min away. i have a bf myself who lives in virginia while i live here in hawaii (he's in virginia for college). and we manage to get by just fine. you guys will get to see each other often enough and if its a trust issue then if you two dont trust each other then yes i suggest you two not date. but yeahh. and as for the friendship thing. eh why settle for that when there could be more? i mean if you two like each other. go for it! if you two are truely good friends even after u break up things will be fine :] thats my advice ^__^

Ask him out first as friends.
Say something like, "How about we try to go on a date? Like as close friends!" and then go from there. If he enjoys himself, maybe he'll decide that he wants to actually be in a relationship with you. |

Lol. I can't really tell him to ask me because... I'm really shy. There's also a huge fear of rejection beneath the shyness. I know he probably wouldn't turn me down... but still.. it's there.

TOTALLY AGREEEE!!!!! well the thing i would tell you NOT to do is push him into making a decesion you have to wait patiently and not rush anything or else he wont want anything. wow your friends are crummy for leaving you behind just to hang out with a dude they just met....uhmmm they dont seem to be the best of friends.. and please in the name of CREATION dont put yourself down its really old now hearing it from alot of people...you will only be pretty if you believe it yourself as long as you see yourself in the mirror and compare yourself to other people and label yourself as ugly you will never be pretty. YOUR PRETTY YOU JUST HAVNT REALIZED IT. GOOD LUCK! |

DO YOU SEE THIS, boys and girls that are afraid to just say it! Act on instinct!!! I'm proud of you. If you can do that, than you know what you need to tell him. Act on instinct. I know you want to tell him the obvious. Tell him that you can have a relationship and still be friends. Do you or him have a car? If not, thats ok. Thats what weekends are for! I think your the first person on CB that I see with actuall guts in your system. Well... I was afraid he wasn't getting my signals, so one night on the phone, I just said I had to tell him something, and he said he was listening, so I said, "I really like you, I know it's been under a month, but I seriously, seriously like you." and to my suprise he said he knew that I did, and that he likes me back as well. Yeah... I hardly go to school anyways, I take my work home and do it... so, we can do stuff during the week also. I do have a car, which is good. Lmfao xD |

You don't have to make it a date. Just ask him to hang out sometime. If you know he likes you then it should go pretty well. And if not, at least you've gained a new friend. =]

OK first off im a guy...so feel free to ridicule my advice but here it goes.
I think this is a very nice story and this dude uve met seems like a genuine person and your lucky this is all working out for you but just some comment on your future prospects with guys. I think you need to value yourself alot more, I can see from your comments that you put this guys value (albiet slightly) above your own...this is where much relationship insercurity stems from, especially in this case , when u know he likes you and your still nervous. The main thing u did wrong was that statement that you 'seriously, seriously like him' I suggest to never use with on a guy again...but before u flame me let me explain. Males enjoy the thrill of the hunt, and genetically we are programmed to find the best mate possible , these two things are sad but true. When a guy is nervous and insecure and desperate...he is not attractive to women and conversely, when a women does not show she is an object of value and desire in the way she acts, flirts and communicates (intially at least) it shows to men that she must be of lower social standing than himself and not worth persuing. With saying things like you 'seriously seriously' like a guy , it sounds desperate and can make guys question whether you are of adequate social standing to themselves. They can sometimes ask questions like 'why am I chasing a girl who I can JUST HAVE?'. So if you played just a 'touch' more mysterious and make him feel a little unsure of himself (while still being inviting to his attention)...youll soon find he is just a harmless fly caught in your web. My 2 cents |
