I'm making a custom friend space in a DIV and I want the scrollbar to move sideways, left to right, instead of up and down. Is that possible?

I'm not too sure I understand your question. Could you provide a link where you've seen it done?
Someone else will probably know what you're talking about better than me. Do you mean you want your friend's space to go horizontally in one row and not break up into other rows?

Yeah, that's what i meant. I haven't seen any examples before, this is my idea, but i want my friend space to be just one row, with a scrollbar from left to right (like the kind you see at the bottom of a webpage when someone's site has stretched out too far).

I don't think that is possible. The way I could think of making that happen would be to make a custom friends space.
You could hide your friends and then make your own. You could but a little div at the end of who I'd like and put your friends in it.

Not entirely sure I'm grasping what is being asked for here, but if you set the div to a width less than the total width of your friends' image links, and set overflow to auto, surely then you'll have a scrolling horizontal scrollbar...?

So something like

body {
overflow-x:auto;
overflow-y:hidden; }

The x is obviously your horizontal scrollbar and the y your vertical one. Though a horizontal scrollbar is default I should think...

I think they mean friend's all on one line.
Setting the width smaller would create a horizontal scrollbar, but the friends wouldn't be on one line.

I'm confused. So, michelly essentially wants a manually scrollable single image marquee? Like in all (I think) of blaqheartedstars' layouts?

Sort of like a scrolling marquee, except in a DIV with scrollbar instead.

Okay, well if you do what I said earlier, set the height of the div to the height of your friend link images, then it will have no choice but to scroll, since there isn't room inside the div for the friend link images to go onto a second line. If you follow me?

I did try that. It just seemed to go up and down, not left to right, which is what i don't understand.

Hmm...logically, that should work but yeah, I did try it and it didn't. Sorry, I'm out of ideas.
