Does anyone know where I can get free code to create a "Join My Mailing List" type thing? It's for a music MySpace. I need a code that is not only free but one that doesn't require on site crediting, meaning I don't have to put "This came from....." or "Click here to get your own...."
This site needs to look professional. I just want a box where one can type in their e-mail address, click submit, and voila. Thank you. |

Hmm, I'm really trying to think, because I don't think you can do this on a myspace. I mean if you want to do things like this then I would think you would get a normal site for it to be perfessional.
I'll look around though and see what I can find |

I've seen it on band's websites before. :-( I really hope I can do this.
I found this: http://www.lissaexplains.com/html4.shtml BUT...it's telling me something about no profiles created or something. |

^ Those aren't mailing lists those are email forms. So people can email you if you have a question of some sort.
There are alot of scripts out there but for websites. I would just get one if your trying to be professional. Especially since you are trying to get one WITHOUT giving credit. |

Well, basically, I just want an e-mail sent to the artist with the subscriber's e-mail address in it. That way, she can just add that person to her address list. So an e-mail form would suffice. Does that make sense? Like an e-mail with the subject of 'Add to Your Mailing List' and the subscriber has entered their e-mail address into the box, and it's the body of the e-mail.
She's already got a website. The MySpace is for extra promo. I wouldn't mind giving credit. I just want it to look professional and not say "made by XXXhottiecutieXX click here" or something of that sort. I've actually seen quite a few nice looking (non-credit giving) mailing lists out there. I am just not sure what the rules say about posting people's MySpace that I do not know for an example. |

Try using this email form: http://pixelfx.org/tuts/html/responseomatic.html
You can remove the fields you don't want. I thought you meant no credit given period. Those xxblahblahxx whatever is a WHOLEEEE different story. I wouldn't even use it . But see the most or "recommended" ones use javascript. My suggestion, if you can't find one, make a website page with the script on it. And just put a link on the myspace profile page. (a big link?) Hopefully it works out. |

Thanks. I tried that, but you had to sign up for a service. I would really prefer not to do that.
Could you possibly tell me why the other form wasn't working? (The Lissa one that I posted above) Does MySpace not support it? I mean, it was showing up, but when you clicked submit, it was saying something about Outlook or profiles or something. |

I didn't try it , I just said i wasn't a mailing list. Its a form. You can try it as well.
If it gave you that type of error, it probably meant for you to use a program or something. http://pixelfx.org has maybe one or two more. I found another one as well, but it needs javascript, which myspace doesn't allow. |
