Should we care?, on how we are viewed. Options

Okay so i was wondering, Should we really care on how people view us?

Today my mom was talking about how she went to a party and the person she met was talking about their other friends daughters and how they were rude and seemed like snobs. There are tons of people and episode morals on tv that say "you shouldnt care about how people look at you."

But do you guys care on how people view you?

Well, it all actually depends.

There is ALWAYS going to be atleast one person who's going to judge you no matter what. They're always are going to think something about you within the first few seconds of meeting you, whether it'd be good or bad.
Now, for example, if it's just somebody you barely know & you'll most likely will rarely ever associate w/ them, then no, it doesn't matter what they think of you.
NOW, if it's somebody like your teachers, friends' parents, or people like that, then yes, you should care about what they think about you because these are people you may need in the future.

i do care. sometimes their judgements will help me shape up for better or for worse, so it really does effect me of what they think of me. i mean, it's not like i'm going to change for them if they tell me to, but if they think i swear too much (and obviously swearing like that is a bad thing) then i'll try my best not to swear so much so that it doesn't make that person or other people around me uncomfortable. you know? it doesn't all effect me, but stuff i do that effects other people would also effect me too. haha confusion.

Half/half. It does matter what others say, they're critique can help you be a better person. But it's important to stay true to yourself and not just go with what others tell you. You just have to find a balance.

me too i dont know why but i do care, i guess when i hear that "oh yea i met him he's really nice" gives me confidence and lowers helps my self-esteem.

and i take it hard when i hear someone takling about me also. lol.

Of course, it effects everyone to some degree. I take little things to heart, so I'm very conscious on how I present myself. Call me shallow or superficial, but I want to make a good impression on people. There's nothing wrong with wanting to seem approachable or somebody people would like to get to know.

I think it's quite important that you care about how they view you, because how they view you affects how they'll treat you. So yes, I care about how they view me.

I voted half, even though I'm leaning more towards the not caring option. I rarely give a shit about what people think about me, simply because everybody judges. Face it, everybody does. And how will it matter in the end?
