I'm not too sure if I like the idea of them making a movie about one of the most infamous unsolved murders in history.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387877/

For some people who don't know who the Black Dahlia (aka Beth Short) is you can read about it on crime library

I want to see it, though, because I'm interested in how they're going to portray the characters.

asad;ghfd I can't believe they made a movie on it, either. pinch.gif I'd prefer that they didn't.. although seeing as they did.. it better turn out good. Then again, Scarlett's a good actress. shrug.gif

Odd, I hope its good as well. I more than likely won't go see it in theatre's. Just wait til' it comes out. I find it a little odd that they made it into a movie though..

^ I don't. Hollywood's running out of talented screenwriters (or at least ones that producers are willing to take a chance on), and thus, they resort to redundancy. XD.gif

I'm just interested in seeing how they portray all the people who were involved. I don't really like the idea of it though... it's just not right to make a movie out of it... maybe it's because it's never been solved... or that they're just cashing in on it like the world trade center.

Actually, from what I've read, there is a good deal of evidence behind who the real murderer is. Anywho, they do it all the time.. there are a buttload of Jack the Ripper movies. shrug.gif

what i'm wondering is how the movie will end seeing as the murder is unsolved... seems interesting. it sucks how they make someone's life into entertainment, i find it rude. blink.gif BUT entertainment is entertainment.

It looks interesting to me. I really want to see this.

"Now the funeral grounds are at last awash with the blackness of a frigid autumn night. I've lurked into the graveyard with pick and spade in tow. This night shall birth forth our reckoning. Hell's jaws now open wide."

So metal it hurts.

That's exactly what I was thinking. There's been so much about this case in the past 60 years, I don't think a movie could capture how horrific the murder was and the events that followed. I think that lately "hollywood" has made some disrepectful moves of what they make into entertainment. Just like with World Trade Center, I know a lot of people said it was a touching movie, but let the evidence speak for it's self and all the stories of that day. You don't need to re-enact it, the story tells it all.

ooo.. a movie on an unsolved mystery.
perhaps they'll make up what THEY believed happened..
or leave us hanging at the end of the movie..

mellow.gif I always thought The Black Dahlia was just a band. Not that I really listened to them as a fan or researched what their name was about.
I never knew it was a murder case.. o_o
weee.. this'll be interesting. I might want to see it because murder mysteries give me the chills. Especially since it's real!

This may find a new seat in my top ten worst films of all time. What a incoherent, busy, mess of an effort. Drama school acting, no direction, awful collection of red herrings, false starts, and embarrassing camp. De Palma sets a new low for himself; what a douche bag!

I encourage you: Do not see this noir-wannabe overdeveloped trash! Unless, of course, you like to torture yourself.
