So I'm reading Der Kleine Prinz, which is of course the German version of The Little Prince. I've read it in English before, and I have to say it's one of my favorite books. It's simplistic, but not in a negative way. On the contrary, it's got a nice theme. I always get a little sad when I read it.
Reading it in German is a little more difficult (I'm reading it for school), and I think a lot of the tone gets lost in translation. I find German to be a more technical language, so it doesn't portray this kind of literature well. It's more literal than figurative.
But since The Little Prince was originally written in French by a French man, I wonder if some other meanings were lost when it was translated in English...
Anyways, has anyone else read The Little Prince? If you haven't, I say you should! It's a short book, and a must-read.
