Do you know where it says.... "Width" in the "Page Width & Alignment" part? Choose pixels. Insert whatever number you want.

well if you wanted it to be small, dont make it "400px". The bigger the number is, the bigger its gonna be. and most likely, if there is somthing big in your entry then your blog is gonna be stretched out too. Unless you put a scroll bar in there. You should take off the search bar. And resize the images. Just click the image and make it small by resizing it. If you want the code for scroll bars:

CODE
<div style="overflow:auto; width:230px; height:300px;">

probably something like
<style type="text/css">
.maincenter {
width: 200px !important;
}
.search {
width: 200px !important;
}
.blogbody {
width: 200px !important;
}
.blogheader {
width: 200px !important;
}
</style>

I just put arbitrary values there; you'll probably want to play around with the "px" numbers until you get what you want.
maincenter corresponds to the entire search+blog area, search is of course the search bar, blogbody is the "body" of your entries (content, comments/eprops links, etc. . .) and blogheader is the date/time header of each entry
