The buttons dont work!!!! wtf? It worksfine when i test it in macromedia flash pro 8 program..but on the internet...it just doesnt work!!!! The problem started happening ever since i downloaded flash 9 from myspace.. |

i belive there is a new type of code needed to be used, i wouldnt be able to tell you unless i had the fla. file...

i dont think there is a new code for that...but damn i thought i fixed it..but i guess not.. I changed the security settings and it stiiiiiiiiiiiiilll doesnt work for some reason..

sounds good. btw, im pretty sure i got the code rite..
example: on (release) { getURL("http://mail2.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=mail.message&friendID=10725283"); } The buttons work great when i test out the layout in publish preview. When i push the buttons it goes to the url i want it to go...But when i test it out on the internet..the buttons dont do anything.. Also this problem started happening ever since i got Adobe Flash 9. |

hey smacker i had to remove my flash also.. the reason is bc myspace updated to flash 9.. flash 9 is ALL NEW actionscript 3.0 with many security fixes.. the code is no longer getURL its navigateToUrl.. but now if u change it it still wont work because they have allowed script access to internal files only... so therefore making all of your buttons NOT work no matter what you do... so ya i had to remove mine.. pissed me off... lol but ya sorry dude.. ofcourse.. u have already found a solution... hahh just have the links at the top

I hate myspace, and this is why. i will tell you, no EXTERNAL links will work in flash anymore, myspace automaticl adds this to all embed codes. i changes
<embed src="" to <embed allowScriptAccess="never" allownetworking="internal" src="" this was done casue of "flash redirect" casue it stops that, and i mean.. it sucks. so the days of "flash" layouts on myspace are over, there is no gettign around it. i have already tried everything, the allownetworking="internal" tag in the embed stops external linking. however, anyone who has'nt updated flash to the newest version, the external links will still work. the allownetworking="internal" tag dont work with any but the new version of flash. hope this helps, and check out my site www.whatscene.com. we dont block stupid stuff. haha |

i really think alot of you should read this, and STOP trying to make flash layouts, Myspace and Flash layouts are over.
w.o external linking, blah whatscene.com is a great alternative. they dont block that. It's just annoying, if you want to make a flash layout myspace is not the place. so stop, casue you cant click anything .. |
