So I was scanning my computer checking for virus, spyware, etc etc.
Report shows that I've a spyware known as a "Tracking Cookie". Definition: Tracking cookies track your web browsing habits. Tracking cookies are browser settings giving advertisement websites a unique id for the user. The tracking cookies are constantly re-added when you browse the web. I try deleting it, but it won't work. Anyone know how using Shaw Secure or any other way? Thanks. Oh, and by the way.. does anyone know any information on this "Tracking Cookie"? Is it harmful to my computer and will it remember my e-mail passwords and all? |

It doesn't harm your computer that much.. It just keeps a record of what websites you go to and sends it to some people.
I use SpySubtract, which came with my computer. It works pretty fine and deletes everything that I tell it to. I recommend SpySweeper or something like that. Yeah.. If you want to delete it so badly, go to C:\Documents and Settings\COMPUTER USERNAME HERE\Cookies and delete it by hand. If it still doesn't work, then it might be because it's on another user account on your computer, which I don't think you can delete. Or it's undeleteable (is that a word?). |
