Um, I believe someone was wondering why all the old mods have such animosity for the current ones... I was just saying why.

And I've been lurking :]

Edit:// And point to me where I've said that if we had "stuck around" it wouldve prevented this.

I never said that. Back then we had the good sense to step down when it was required of us (When we simply had no time left for cB).

I HAVE suggested that some of the old mods should be let back on staff. Keyly the ones who have recently reapplied.

Oh sorry that's what I got out of this:
QUOTE(tripvertigo @ Jul 30 2007, 09:19 PM) *
Maybe because there's been a drastic change in the quality of staff members since we were on board, and if had still been around we probably never would have let these people on staff.

Maybe I was over-analyzing

blush.gif That's not worded very well.

I only meant that by our standards, some of these people wouldnt have been modded. What happened to standards, people?

I dont want to be put back on staff really. I may have said so jokingly in the past but honestly I have no time for it.

I do think that former mods that are applying now and have displayed exemplary performance as mods in the past should be held at higher consideration than the rest of the applicants. maybe that isnt fair but i do think it is a necessary leap foward to amend the downfall that i see cb going into currently.

I know this is bit off topic, but one thing that I don't like about this thread is the fact that people post here with hatred towards the mods and tell us that we are messing up but they don't tell us how. They just say general things like:
QUOTE
You guys are f**king up.
How are we supposed to be expected to be perfect and better when you won't even tell us what we're doing so wrong now?

^

This is generally how conversations go:

kryo:"Hey mods, you guys have committed abuse by doing XYZ"
mods:"No we didn't do anything wrong."
kryo:"And yet there is clearly a problem here."
mods:"We blame you."
kryo:"Except I didn't break any rules and you've still taken action."
mods:"Well maybe if you didn't have a history of bothering the mods, we wouldn't be so quick to take action."
kryo:"Well maybe if you didn't have a history of f**king up, I wouldn't be so quick to bother you."
mods:"You're always saying we're f**king up but never tell us how."
kryo:"Are you even reading what I'm writing?"

And there you have it.

I'm sorry, but I don't really see where the accusations that we only hire 'asskissers' comes from. Last hiring session, at least three of the people hired were quite far from that, and given that this hiring session there are again a number of applicants who fit that description and have the potential to be hired, it seems like nothing more than empty assumption.

Are you serious? blink.gif

I had to take a step back on that one. There has been a long drawn out discussion on EVERY thing you've done. And most of the time someone who's tired of your useless complaining, has given into you and given you what you want.

You really don't read my posts.

Some things are left better unsaid. I think some mods feel they need to act as if they're superior and they're humoring us / doing us a big favor by doing certain things. Of course that may not be the intent of that mod, but it's a vibe that I've seemed to have caught.

To be honest, Fae, I kind of side with you in so far as 'what is the point?', but really, my take on it is kind of 'let the kids have what they want.'

he's referring to that.

I just have one thing to request of all the admins.

I don't think its that big of a favor to ask, but could you please sign on as not invisible. I find it really unprofessional for your job title to come on invisible...its like you don't want to be bothered by the community so if they dont ever know your online then you don't have to worry about it..

^ Holly, I'm sorry but I for the most part I feel comfortable being invisible. That is because when I log on at work (which happens quite often), I do not want them seeing me on. I have been caught before and quite frankly I will not be caught again, paranoia or not.

Also, it's not unprofessional, it is a personal preference that I have every right to do with what I will.

Sorry if this comes up as a little sharp, but I don't think that my personal log in preferences is any of your business. Should you like to PM me, do so and I am typically quick to respond.

Its not that.

Its when memebers come on and need a admins help and they want a quick response back so they start PMing head staff because well it shows their online and all the admins are offline.

you just have to look at it from others perspectives.

If your not supposed to be on websites like these while at your job, then why come on? I just see that as taking a bigger risk for something that means a lot more.

They look for my username. Last IT I talked to (luckily he was a friend) knew my username, that I had changed my username, etc. So I'm not chancing it. Sure, I can switch at home but I can't guarantee I'll remember to log out and back in.

Holly again, I hate to sound rude but what I do on my work time and how I do it just isn't really your concern, you know?

And so far being invisible hasn't created a lot of problems and staff knows of ways to get in touch of me if something monumental happens.

and like i said..

why would you risk something like that. I'm sorry but if i wasn't supposed to be on createblog at my job then I would obey that rule because I mean personally I wouldn't want to lose my job because I was on createblog.com.

okay, honestly...

if there's the problem, the heads should be able to take care of it.

the only things that absolutely NEEEEED the admins is stuff that has to do with bans, changing of statuses, etc.

i don't see what's such a BIG deal......

You didn't really say anything to my scenario.

why would you risk something like that. I'm sorry but if i wasn't supposed to be on createblog at my job then I would obey that rule because I mean personally I wouldn't want to lose my job because I was on createblog.com.

I'm sorry but when you say that it just makes it sound like since the admins dont ever show up around then when members need them then the head staff gets to do to the dirty work.
