Well...I've never had gay friends come out to me, it's more like, me coming out to them, from your friends veiw(If he's gay): 9 times out of ten When you come out you just get really nervous cuz' you're afraid your friends won't accept it, so either he's waiting out or he's not gay.
What I think you should do is really think, like think about it, If he is gay will there be a problem? If he's str8 are you comfortable telling him you don't like him doing that with you?
So really it's just a matter of gathering the courage, and to expect the unexpected.
Because if you're that close it's not really about sounding wrong or right, because friends always give you a chance to go into a looonnngggg explination, it's about just saying it to him.

It never stops surprising me how many people in the world will never learn to accept the fact that not everyone has to be, catholic,or str8,or gay, or black, or white, to fit in.

you could say stuff like "dude thats so gay" just to hint it out like a joke.. but if he doesn't say anything then wait for him to tell you instead of you putting pressure on him.

I agree. You don't have to be quite so serious about it when you hint or ask him. That would probably make you both a litle uncomfprtable. Just kinda be like "man stop being so gay" like a joke, and whatever he says after that should tell you what he thinks.

I disagree with that. Saying "Stop being so gay" could end up being slightly insulting and even make him not want to come out to you since he'd figure you wouldn't accept it.
Just ask him without turning it into a witch hunt and it'll be fine.

i think you should wait until he tells you he is gay. just cuz he is hugging you and say oohh baby doesnt mean he is gay......i have alot of straight friends that do that, but they are just joking around.
