Love isn't just showing by spending time with your children... it's all the hard work that you do for your kids.. :] that's why I appreciate my father so much... i see the little things and he does and the responsibilities he takes to love me. I want to be that kind of dad when I grow up.. :]

You are right, and like I said I am a parent and it is hard. And other advice is this, do not rush into it take your time and when the time comes you will know. Just please make sure you are ready. That is why we get the foster kids, people have kids and are not ready for them and want to party and the kids are in the way. So they beat them, leave them alone (we had a 2 year old girl that was left alone 24 hours a day it was sad) or kill them. Look hard at your mom and dad again...

Oh if you are beat CALL DHS!! if you are really being beat then do that before it is to late!

PEACE

Look man, I'm not rushing anything... I see being a good father is having a good foundation to start you kids off on the right foot. I'm trying very hard in college, and I'm going to go get my 4 year degrea after this so I can support a family before I start one. Someday I will have a family, but part of being a loving father is knowing when to start one too.

I was not saying that you were rushing just letting people know. I am 39 years old and have a 10 yr old and a 5 and 2 I know people who are well put it this way the kids we have now our foster kids mom is 22 and her son is 5 and her daughter is 3 and SHE IS DUE IN SEPTEMBER!!! she is getting the baby taken from her to. She is a prime example of people not ready.

for many of you i'm sure that your relationship with your parents has changed since you went to college

Now that i'm moved out i feel like i have lost a lot of the relationship with my mother...partly because i feel like she has started a new life...that includes me as a minor part...despite how much i know she loves me. I try to devote time into calling her everyday but sometimes its hard when we are living under 2 seperate roofs.

my dad its different i haven't lived with him in like four years (divorce)
but i have this whole new trust in him and can tell him anything and i know he's still paying attention
maybe i just need to spend some time away fomr my mom to develope a more trusting relationship like i have with my dad

One thing both of my parents installed in me was that i want to be a parent...i want to experience all the joys and struggles of it..but now isn't my tiem to start a family...but i always will want one
