Bringing Back the Current Events Forum, Feedback please

Nate had made the suggestion of bringing back the Current Events Forum.

We briefly had a Current Events forum and for the most part, it was beloved. However, there were times when posting there became a bit stagnant and eventually, when there was a Forum Reorganization, the Current Events Forum went good-bye.

Here are a couple of past threads that touched on the subject.

Personally, I'd love to see the Current Events Forum make a come-back. It's an excellent way of getting those intellectual juices flowing.

Ah, yes. I remember the complaints about the Current Events forum dissapearing.

I think a current events forum would be great.
It would clean up the lounge some too. thumbsup.gif

^2x I agree.
There arent a lot of current events in there anyways, and they always get lost (go beyond page 1) because people are posting in the other threads.

I would like to see it back. happy.gif

The Lounge will never be not active. Not to mention, I don't exactly see the point in making it more active than it needs to be. The forums should be healthy, not rabid. And, I think given the Current Events forum, we can help to promote more quality posting and spread more of a community on the boards. As a bonus, people will have a better chance of learning about the world around them, and being able to discuss related issues. I'm all for it, and I hope to see it soon.

Yeah, well, I'm going to make it in a few minutes. :) I said it backstage, but: even though I don't like having more subforums, Current Events would be highly appreciated by many people.

I know, I felt so stupid. I posted this, and then I went backstage and read it.

I'm so stupid sometimes.

I've moved 3 pages worth of topics in there just now.

Although, it ruined the concept of having one-word forum names under Interests.

Would 'News' be a better name? It's not specific to what kind of news (i.e. World News) though.

Design staff did MASSSS cleaning, so there. [;

Hmm. That's a good idea. Although "events" might fit also. xD

Well then, this thread has served its purpose, hasn't it? _smile.gif

Perhaps the (semi)new forum should be announced in the minor changes thread.
