okay. i know. i'm lame. i ask too many questions. whatever. anyways.

http://www.purevolume.com/toosorryforapologies

that's a purevolume site (obviously) which is more likely than not different than myspace, HTML-wise (again) but uh, you see how he has that AIM link thing on his page?
when you click on the link an AIM box shows up?

well i view his sources and found that particular code and tried doing that with my myspace.
.... annnnd it didn't work, needless to say.
is there any way you think it could? :/

Hmm, I remember a while back this was brought up.

In place of the image/link, were there two or three dots?
I've seen it done somehow..
*thinks hard*

i don't recall dots..
here, i found the code again.. here it is;

<br />
<center>Thank you so much for listening to the music! Please feel free to contact me!<center><br />
<img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a256/Ashwinband/aolicon.jpg" /><font><font size="size">Instant Messenger = Aim - <a href="aim:goim?screenname=iplay6uitar">Iplay6uitar</a><br />
<center>email: Jimmyisme_8@hotmail.com </font></font><br />
</center></font><br />
<br />
<center><br />

i tried doing that in my myspace only with my info-etc a while ago. i don't think it worked..

oh and really quick, that topic you just closed, i just need to make sure of these:

one) okay, so there's for sure no way to move my about me back up and get rid of that box?
two) there's for sure no way to get my border back?
three) there's for sure no way to get rid of my bottom links?

just checking.

Not exactly. Because I have a feeling they allow more codes than myspace does.

But try this . Make a link.
Copy one of these urls http://www.imhut.com/aimtricks/aimcodes.php
Then convert it to a tiny url here: http://tinyurl.com

I think Janette means, that when you type the word "aim" on myspace it turns into dots. If she didn't mean that. Well it actually does happen. =/

okay sweet. um. one question.

aim:goim?screenname=SCREENNAME&message=MESSAGE

that's the URL i'm going to have, only modified.
would i make it <a href="aim:goim?screenname=SCREENNAME&message=MESSAGE
">and then my visible stuff here?
and my screen name has spaces in it.. do i include the spaces in the URL?

No. You have to put your screename in it.
Then you copy just the url and your screen name to tiny url . Get the new url .
Or go to http://notlong.com . Whichever works.

Then you put the new url in
<a href="urlhere">Im Me</a>

oh. okay wait. i'll just explain what i did;

i got the URL, which was
aim:goim?screenname=SCREENNAME&message=MESSAGE
i changed that around to my own stuff, and then i put that into tinyurl.com.
after that i put the tiny URL into <a href="">stuffystuff</a>

and i tried it out, and it didn't work :/
when i went back to my edit page i saw <a href="...com/eprjsoga> or whatever my tiny URL was.
was that what you meant by 'dots'?

Yea. Try http://notlong.com
Put that url where it says long url.
Then change the stuff in the little box to what you want.

ahh shoot.
i tried the notlong.com one, and it said it wasn't a valid URL.
so i put www. in front of it and tried entering it in my browser thing, and the usual "this page cannot be displayed" came up.

You can't really add www. Infront of it. But yea I don't know, there were working codes but then myspace changed it.
