Height seems important for boys. You can read the statistics, and you will find that taller men do better in the corporate world. Boys are often obsessed about thier height. This is, however, self perpetuating.

The key to the sucess of taller men is the extra confidence it gives them. The reason it gives them confidence is the sucess of taller men. This makes sense. Do not question it.

Added later:

So, your job is to tell me why I am wrong. My reasoning is not backed up by any research, but logic and intuition. Sharing your own experiences could constitute a good contribution. Please discuss. If you agree with me, please say why. In general, discuss the topic. Is height really that important, or is it mainly the confidence it brings?

Why, that's mighty open-minded of you.

If you're not going to welcome any questioning, why make a topic at all?

Who said who is spoiled? Shut up, maybe you're just whack! Most of my post are influenced by hiphop lyrics anyways. Sense the cockiness? Oh yeah, I'm sorry that I might have to make you promise that you'll never tell?

I do not believe this applies to taller women. I believe this is because society does not encourage taller women, so this is not a factor in determining confidence. A similar effect, however, can be seen in body weight.

Height does have an effect on some guys. It could lower their confidence with women, cus most women like tall guys. Most of the girls I know like guys who are taller than them, and some even like 6'0"+ lol. It could also affect some of their play in sports, I guess. Taller guys in sports usually have an advantage, obviously. But in terms of business/money-making? I don't see how height would contribute there, I don't think height would determine money makers lol, it's all brain.

But in general, height does play a bit of a role depending on the category you're talking about.

That is a real stastistic, however. Taller men do do better than shorter men in the corporate world. Hence my assertation that height only benefits confidence.

Now that I think about it, I've never really seen or heard of a successful short guy in the corporate world. So you do have a point. I still think they could be successful in that area, but it just doesn't happen. There's probably some, but we just don't know.

Height definitely impacts one's confidence though.

That is not true, especially not in Asia. It's true that society does put pressure on the physical figure, but if you're not tall, it's a blow to your ego when you see a woman taller than you, unless of course, she's over 6'0 feet. Then, it's too tall.

i agree with you completely. I am not sure of all men, but to me height is very important. I admit that i am short. I am only 5'6"! But that is what God gave me and I have to live with it. I am only 19, and men stop growing at around age 25 so I might not be done yet. Hey, I am like Micheal Jordan comparing to everybody else in my family! =) But I loses confident when i talk to taller women because there are chances that I might not be attractive in their eyes. For majors and careers, yes i also agree are that subject as well.

You cannot give yourself the height, if so then I would try my best to make myself 6 foot already. No matter how much you try, if it's in your DNA...then you're stuck with it.
Also in my opinon, I believe in God, therefor I believe that he specifically made everybody unique including heights.

and for business, taller men = confidents, get respects, fit in society, etc...i cannot think of more things that are on top of my head at the moment but yeah. Like for example, if u are doing a business presentation, a taller man would be more confident then a shorter man because he feels more manly compare to women.. By that he will at least be attracted to some woman. So he'll feel good about himself and that makes confident. Sorry if that doesn't make sense but that's the best i can discribe IMO right now.

so ... you're letting God to do your height thing?

wow, you dont have to drink milk at all ! Try not to get any calcium. that means, you're not trying to get taller. thumbsup.gif

If you want to be tall/average, drink milk, excerise, swim, stretch, pills, or whatever to grow "taller".

You're the one who's giving yourself the height, not God. _smile.gif right?

i have a friend and he's 5'2 or 5'3.. He drink milk and play a lot of basketball since he was in high school, he tried whatever he can to get taller. He is like 23 currently and he is shorter then me. I don't play that much sports. Like i said, those things might help you a little bit but not much. Plus the older you get, your bones shrink or something like that. That's why most older people are shorter then their children.

Yeah. i know about these old people. it's natural.

about your friend ... did he meet his bodyrequirement to grow tall? Or, did he had big muscle? super big muscle at a younger age can prevent you from growing taller.

but i could be wrong though.

anyways, i know there's a gene that makes people a midget. sad.gif

No it doesnt. It tells you .. when to stop? idk.

My family had a certain DNA information which enable them to be tall.

a few of my family are short because they didnt drink milk anymore, eat cheese, and etc.

they're suppose to be tall but they didnt have enough nutrients. they eat ALOT of junk food. mellow.gif

We're not talking about tall people who ended up short. We're talking about short people. Clearly you need nutrition to reach your maximum potential height, but the inverse—that good nutrition automatically makes you tall—is not true.

height is strictly also base on gene?

It is true that good nutrition not always make you tall. It's because of the genes.

worthy.gif i'm confuse. i dont know what i'm saying.
