"They are not just maids. They are really very well-trained now," he said. "If there is someone injured among the family they work for ... how to get out of a fire in a high-rise building, all these are part of our upgrading program." It seems logical. I know people who have a fillipino maid. If thier house were on fire, the maid would be in the position to help. However, I fail to see how this shows fillipinos as low classed.

^ yeap exactly what she said, if you watch filipino drams/movies you see the housekeeper/maid is usally women so they do most of the cleaning, cooking, etc.

i guess because most butlers are non-existant in the philippines....they make up the taxi drivers .
