Is being gay a new trend in America?

Different circles or social groups have different things they admire. High schools are chock-full of them. Some people find it admirable to be gay just because it's "different". I'd say the reason that some groups admire homosexuality so much is the same reason that some groups admire people who profess to love the most obscure movies or bands—because it's "different".

I agree. Some people (mostly females) claim to be bisexual in my school. It's quite odd, though. They'll admire guys, but never turn their heads for a girl. Trend? Heck yeah.
