^ ditto.

I've never heard of two, and I go to a Christian School.

Then again, the Catholic Bible has more books to it than ours does.

haha. the two versions are similar, but then they`re not. For example, in one version it took 7 days for God to create earth, etc, God is the one that narrates and God rests on the Sabbath. In the other version everything is complete in one day, God does not dictate and this one involves the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve.
Both were crated from dirt; water was there, and animals and plants were there for human use. And both were created in the image of God.

You know, humans were created last? On the sixth day... off the top of my head. So water and everything would be there.

all that is is God talking to the humans he just created on the Sixth day... He made them to rule over the earth that he had already created in the previous 5 days...

How do you guys get two accounts of creation? Seriously, I would have heard of this by going to a christian school for 12 years

That can't be right....
The Bible has only 1 creation story.
The 2 you speak of are basically the same.
God created the heavens and the earth, created man on the 6th day and used adams rib to create eve, creating them in his image.

What Bible version do you have exactly?

I think it's coming down to a misinterpretation. The passage that was spoken of just is an in-depth look on the sixth day, not a whole new account of creation altogether.

^ Yeah, I've read that one

Anyways, I'd always been told that instead of rain (which came with Noah and the Flood), mists watered the Earth. So that's where that comes in. Since this is the account of man, I can understand why people don't think God dictated it, except for the fact that this second account acknowledges God as the creator and all of the things created are acknowledged in the correct order.

Isn't this account just a brief overview of the seven days? I don't think it's a whole new account, or a different version - after all, what would be the reason to put another whole account of that story in the next chapter? This account just focuses on Man, and the special future and functions that he is goign to perform - it's just an exposition on man's position among creation.

exactly what i was going to say. the first "version" is the overview of God creating everything. the second "version" is just the details and the story of how he created man. i go to a christian school, and we've talked about this in bible class a few times...
