No need to apologize. Let's just stay on topic.
Correct me if I'm wrong (anyone), but the last thing being discussed was popular clothing stores not carrying larger sizes. |

well, if that was the topic...then, in my neighborhood there are stores like Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart, and The Avenue that carry plus size clothing. and because of the internet you can buy plus size clothes that are made very well. my point is, so what if popular stores don't carry plus sizes? i dont want to sound harsh, but you, as a plus size individual, have 2 choices: 1. lose weight or 2. don't shop at those stores.

well yes...that's true.
but...you have to think about this one. some people are overweight through heredity, and have a VERY hard time losing weight, or even keeping it off. there are a lot of stores for plus-sized or even just bigger people who aren't plus-sized, but ohmygod, are you kiding? not everybody has 30 dollars to spend on one pair of jeans these days! i find that the only popular stores that carry bigger sizes happen to be wal-mart; and let's face it, i don't care where you live, wal-mart usually doesn't have a good selection of clothes in general. of course they have bigger sizes, but do you really think a size 16 girl is going to walk around with a top on that's barely an inch of material? i didn't think sooo. as for ordering them online...yeah right! you have to understand that bigger girls don't just have problems finding their size, but finding something in their size that fits RIGHT. get what i'm saying? also, after you order something online, no matter where you order it from...especially bigger sizes..you'll be spending 50 dollars on one thing. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that EVERYBODY doesn't have money for that, but the majority really don't. FAT PEOPLE ARE HUMANS TOO! treat us like them! |

^that was different. i thought the normal complaint was that popular/designer stores don't care sizes for bigger people, those are usually the expensive stores. but anyway, everyone has trouble shopping online i think...since u cant try the stuff on, and i find it hard to believe an overweight person coudlnt buy stuff online that's less that 50 dollars an item.
i think places should carry bigger clothes, but "big girls" still need to realize that they are the...minority? as far as clothes go, and just accept that. and when i say "big girl" im not talking about girls who are normal or even a little over normal, i mean overweight. if it's that big of a deal, then they need to lose weight, and yeah i understand that for some people that's harder than others, but if u want to wear certain things THAT bad, ur just going to have to do it. i agree with soeffingmajor, there's not that many options to choose from. i don't agree with stores that don't even have clothes that fit normal sized people, stores like abercrombie, seriously my 12 year old sister fits in those clothes perfectly and she's a normal/slightly skinny 12 year old. so i don't get how 16-19 year old girls can shop there if it's the same sizes 12 year olds can wear. their sizes are weird on all their clothes but if ur larger than average, then u either have to change or accept it. i'm 6'4, sometimes it's harder to find clothes that fit right, but i realize that i'm not the average height of most men, so it's going to be harder for me to find things sometime and that's just the way it is when u don't fit into the majority. |

Well, I'll tell you why America wants you girls and guys to be so thin. It's because hmmm... how simple can I make this. I know that cuBers are f**king retarded. They tend to argue about everything even if they completely agree with the person they are arguing with. The truth is, they don't know why they are doing. Think of the cuBers (Members of cB) as lemmings, they just see other cuBers diving off the cliff of stupidity and decide to jump off to because it's just "cool".
How often do you hear your best guy friend talking about getting some action from that thick meaty chick who's always hanging out in the lunch room. I can wait to wrap my arms around one of her 10 love handles and f**k her right under one of those flabs, that fat is probably so lubricated by sweat and smelly grime build up from the days should couldn't reach in far enough to clean it. Never... that's outlandishly disgusting. Keep in mind, you also don't her him talking about having sex with a twig. You know what, instead of acting like the idiots in that new Wendy's commercial. Why don't the majority of you stop kicking trees and following people into holes... instead get a real hamburger, get a grip. People in America want to be thin because the society we live in tells us that thin = sexy. Why does it tell us that? We're the most obese country in the world. We actually consider obesity a disease. How dumb is that, you don't see that problem in any other country. Maybe our society is fighting back. Maybe, we need to be told that thin is sexy so that people will be encouraged to loose weight. Just last night I was watching some reality TV show with FAT people on it. They were all in a competing to loose weight. The number of pounds that they lost as a whole would be tallied up and given back to them in 1000's of dollars. The dumb fat f**k was to lazy to do a relay race for $80,000. We pay our fat citizens loose weight by the pound. If those poor starving bastards in third world countries saw that, it would be a complete mockery to them and their entire society. The combined salary of a population in an entire village, town, or even some cites in most 3rd world countries is probably less than $80,000. When I see these topics I tend to think that there is some sort of sympathy behind them. Sympathy towards that tiny girl or bulimic Emo boy, because they look sickly. It's not there fault. Nooooo, it's America. Those kids don't have minds of their own. They can't help but puke after a good meal, because society is telling them the have to be skinny. I say, "f**k them". If they want to kill themselves, let them die. They are just making the life long competition I have with society easier by taking themselves out of the race. It's their own fault, if they want to kill themselves let them die. America needs to loose some weight. There's always some f**king idiot who will take things to one extreme. If some unselfconscious skinny bitch wants to take things to far by starving herself to death then let her. Well, I'm here to tell you that, "It's for the good of humankind". Where one will fall, 1000's will rise. Instead of trying to help these stupid people, learn from their mistakes. If you are one of these stupid people. Puke your whole f**king colon out, or don't use it at all. I don't care. You're an idiot. Die, thank you for teaching us all not to be like you. I also feel like there is sympathy towards people who are fat, and can't find cloths. Well, you know what. Most of the fat people I know just don't get up off their lazy asses and work. Seriously. That's the bottom line. If you want to lose weight, then I'm sorry, but even your reply to my extremely "offensive" post isn't going to help if you your one of those fat f**ks. Look, I know that some people are just naturally big boned, I know that some people just "can't" loose weight because of their metabolism, but I also know that most people are just plain f**king lazy. I see it every day, a bunch of slobs sitting on their porches, poor as shit. Look at em... I really just don't feel bad. No soup for you, America wants you fat mother f**kers to loose some weight. |

i just want to say, that you can get a pair of jeans for less than $30 in all sizes these days. clothing isn't as expensive as it once was. old navy sells jeans in sizes 14 and up for less than $30...there are always consignment shops where you can try on clothes. and if u order something from the internet and it doesn't fit you well then send it back. i don't understand what the problem is. i used to be fat and i lost over 45 pounds...i didnt worry that america wanted me to be thin or that the stores didn't carry items in my size...i had to make a decision for myself. it seems almost as if overweight people want to blame everyone but themselves for their inability to control their eating. i know dieting is hard, losing weight is very difficult...but the results are priceless

i agree.
i'm not blaming it on somebody else. i, myself, am fat. it IS my fault for not doing much about it for so long, but it's also through heredity so it's hard to get it off. once again, not blaming it on ANYBODY. as for the clothes sizes and stuff...i seriously would not spend more than 20 dollars on a GOOD pair of jeans. i just can't afford that. i hate buying stuff off the internet because 1, it SHOULD fit me but doesn't and got it on clearance and can't send it back. or 2, i just hate the hassle... |

Target has jeans for 20 dollars and their sizes go up to AT LEAST a 12 (thye might go higher, idk). And if it's hereditary, I'm sorry, but I guess some people will have to try harder. I don't have much sympathy for people that say it's hereditary. Try harder. It might take longer but you'll eventually get to a healthier weight if you keep at it.

target hardly caries anything. let alone anything meant to fit a fat girl. of course they make the sizes and pass it along, but do they ever think it'll fit right? like...Cato's, for an example, their sizes don't only go up wayyyyy high, but they're designed in mind that fat girls "features" are different than let's say...a size 3.
hope that didn't confuse... |

Target could really care less if it fits you right. I've had problems with their jeans before, also. But the bottom line is they want money. THey don't care if your jeans fit or not. |

thank u uronacid...if ur having so much difficulty finding clothing that fit u, then u mite wanna consider writing the companies. it may work it may not work...or maybe you could enter a weight loss chatroom and they could give u tips on finding clothes. but i don't believe that the lack of plus size clothing in stores relates strongly to the theory that america wants women to be thin...

^You're welcome, I completely agree with you, but I feel as if you should have added one more solution to that post. IF YOUR TO FAT TO FIND CLOTHING THAT FIT THAN LOSE SOME WEIGHT!
