If you would stop making assumptions you would give off the appearance of a well educated asian. If you look down on someone, you can dislike them, and/or possibly pity them. If there were less obese people in this world, there would be nothing for me to suggest. Theres so much to give, I doubt you'd understand being a lowly teenager.
Actually, I will suggest something for you. Study harder so you can get into a good university, but thats going to require a 1900 & higher on the SAT. Or try your luck on the ACT, and dont bother responding if you get lower than a 27 =)

Another suggestion, try saving the whales, not the obese. Obesity is not something we want in this society.

Again, you wouldn't be pitying someone by putting them down...you would be more sympathetic than anything else.

How would you know that I'm asian and/or lowly? Nice assumption though. Talk to me in October when I finish taking the ACT and the rest of my SAT2's.

You make it seem as if its a mystery. You advertise your little createblog space in your sig, its a nice fat asian girl. Now take my advice, if you act now and study hard you might be able to break 1900.

And again putting them down is not sympathizing with them.

Yeah damng, I feel pretty hefty at a 18.5 BMI who works out and has played 5 different sports.

Pitying = to sympathize with.

While you may think that it doesn't work, it has a greater effect on those who are overweight. I do not hate fat people, I just think that there should be less obese people.

Stop lying I know you hate fat chicks.

Since when is being asian a bad thing, anyway? You make it sound like something undesirable.

but the thing is, salcha's not fat at all and from what i've seen from her previous posts, she's pretty smart. try not to use personal attacks when debating, eh.

so i'll probably get jumped for this, but i don't like fat people as an entity.
there, i said it.

that's not to say that i hate them per se (oooooooooooooooooooh +1000 smart points for me). i have overweight friends and i treat them the same. however, for every obese person that you can think of that is fat due to genetic factors, i can think of another obese person chomping on big macs at mcdonalds.

bottom lines? somebody says the word "fat people" and i think uh.....not cool... :x
but if i get to know them personally, my opinion changes. maybe i'm closed minded but we all have differing opinions.

and back to the original topic at hand--why does america want us to be so thin?
it's been mentioned, but it is generally healthier to be thinner. and it generally looks better.

apologies for being long winded with no particular point.

Do you want people to start being super sensitive around fat people?
This is like how blacks got the african american title, does it really make that big of a difference to use a word like 'overweight' instead of fat?
They already must know they're fat once they can't find jeans in their size anymore.

One of my best friends is fat. He won't use the word "overweight". He proudly states that he's fat and doesn't care who doesn't like it. So I guess he's pretty comfortable with himself.

The only fat people that irritate me are the ones who can lose the weight, but won't get off of their lazy asses and then they complain about how fat they are. That's what is disgusting. If you can lose the weight, then do it.

I agree it's not healthy and I agree a lot of people are just lazy and gross, but what have they done to you? Do their eating habits and size hurt you in any way? No? I thought so.

People should probably just leave them alone.

And the ones who make threads bitching about how its size discrimination when stores don't carry clothing in their size regardless of the fact that they would lose money by doing so.

Because we have so many Mcdonalds. happy.gif

Just kidding.

Because everyone who fashion people say is pretty and such are super skinny people. The reason why they have skinny models is because clothes look better when they are on the hanger, but if someone is modeling it, they want them to look like a hanger and be really skinny.

Then teenagers look at the people modeling and think they are pretty and want to be just like that.

I am pretty skinny, and I eat alot, its just the way my metabolism is.
I like it and all, but I dont want people thinking I starve myself to get this way.

?? i'm lost *cries*. Yeah, I'm normal (medium) and I go into a hollister or abercrombie store and i can barely squeeze myself into their clothes. -__-;; then I go out and see all those people eating big macs and wearing the clothes that I couldnt get myself into and I get confused. I dont think being a little fattie is bad, but over excessivily eating when you can stop and go excersise confuses me too.

this topic is so interesting because it seems like america is the only country that puts great emphasis on weight...though i dont agree that everyone should be thin, i think you should be your target weight (the correct weight for your height and body shape, healthy BMI, etc.) because being overweight or heavy or large is very very unhealthy
