When is it okay for you to move out of your parents house in with a boyfriend or something, what age? Is there anything legal about it? I know you're an adult when you're 18 and your parents no longer can control you, but is there an exact law relevant to this? (moving out of your parents house before turning 18).
Idk, something I was thinking about now I'm wondering. |

It's pretty much 18 if you want to go solo. Yep. That's about it.

in missouri you can move out when you're 17, but it's hard to go to high school after that. the whole process gets weird and i'm not going to take the time to explain it.

18, in every state, makes you a legal adult.
17 you can have sex. but you can also emancipate from your parents. But thats a lot of paper work and involves lawyers and such. |

That's what I was going to say. 18 you can move out, or you can be emancipated to move out beforehand. Since I can't be emancipated, im out right when I turn 18. |

Yeah i'll probably move out for college. There was this girl in my class and she had a house to her self, but her parents were like next door or something. yeah.

Even if you were emancipated you still couldn't handle your own checking account, rent an apartment, and other shit. haha. I guess if you have another adult that can basically take care of you than that works..

Here, I'll tell you something real:
My friend ..We'll call her J, went through a lot at home, and after her father died, her mom and her then moved, her dog died... *not relavent, but still part of the story* She had her boyfriend move in, because she couldn't stand her mother, her mother was acting like the teen... J paid the bills along with P (her bf) ... Her mom lost complete responsibility for her daughter. Now, my friend just turned 17 this year, has her own place, and she's rather happy now.. IMO, you shouldn't move out until you're for sure you can do it on your own, or in your case.. with your boyfriend.. Make sure you can pay for things... It really depends on your parents too, especially if you're underage... I don't plan on moving out any time soon, I'm a "mommy suck" as my step-father would say.. &I am. Though, she helps me a lot.. She's really amazing. Heck, she's letting my bf (who lives in the UK) move here, and shes gonna let him stay at her house, until him & i can become stable enough to support ourselves.. Or we could just pay her rent |

Well the law itsself says parents can do anything untill your 18, so if you move and and your parents aint happy, they can easily real you back in, my mum on the other hand doesnt care so i can move now (im only 17) the only problem is im moving to my girlfriends house (the poste above me lol) and i needa apply for everything get the money and stuff, but if i never id be aloud out now... Well basicly its up too what your mum says untill your 18, if she says no, your either screwed or you better have a good hiding spot x.x lol.

it's 18, but I wouldn't suggest moving in with your boy friend unless you guys are conssidering marrying eachother... I mean, if you guys live together you have to realize you will be together every second... that could get pretty annoying at first, I mean... REALLY ANNOYING!!! Well, anyways you guys may not realize how different you two are and wind up breaking up... that really sucks when you are living together... O_o
I guess what I am saying is... if you are just moving out becuase you are mad at your parents right now... don't do it.. when you are 18 you will have a car (if you work), and you can get out of the house whenever you want... I'm 20, I still techincally live with my dada, but I sleep at my house abput 50% of the time... I guess I'm rarely home |

if your under 18 you have to get parents consent to get emmancipated (sp?) for if you move out under 18 in some states your boyfriend could be charged with haboring a runaway...blah blah blah. but if your over 18 they cant touch you....

the age most likely is 18 but why move with your boyfriend? it such a big responsibility you have to work everyday, pay bills, and even go to skool part time. its like Uronacid said you guys are eventually going to get annoyed with each other maybe he wants to be with his friends one weekend and you dont want him to...dont you want to be free of responsibility and have fun with your friends and not stay at home with ur boyfriend figuring out how you are going to pay the rent for your house? or what if you guys have a baby? to raise a baby means having a big commitment between both of you and frankly although you can be 18 its still a young age to be parents and even more weight on your sholders because now you have a baby to take care of. im 18 and spending a couple of hours with my baby cousin is torture she crys every 5 minutes! its not the best thing in the world.
