Okay..well..the topic pretty much explains everything, "hair...on arm"...Well, I have hair on my arm, but my arm is pretty tan. The thing is, one time, I shaved my arm to "experiment" and nobody ever told me I "shouldn't", so I thought it was a normal thing everybody does. So, I shaved the hair on my arm, and back then, I realized the hair wasn't even the noticable, but I shaved it anyways. It grew out longer, and darker, and now I'm so insecured about the hairs on my arm. I was going to use the NAIR hair remover lotion on it, but then I realized, it's just like shaving, it grows back. So, I was wondering what options do I have for the hair on my arms to be less visible, like..what are some stuff I could do, and be more specific. and don't say, "always wear long sleeves" or something stupid...

My cousin doesn't shave (her hair is really light), but she does use this kind of lotion where it makes the hair on your skin a ligher shade of color. I don't really know much about the lotion she used though. ive heard of a salon treatment like that, where they dye your arm hair or something. ive also heard that if you leave it alone and let your hair grow out it'll grow back to normal. something about how razors cut on an angle so it only LOOKS thicker when it grows back. |

Just shave it. I think it is normal because a lot of people do shave it.
But if you dont want to shave then dye it. |

The thing with shaving is that....I'm naturally tan (I was born tan), but then when I started shaving my legs, somehow my leg got whiter, compared to the normal color of skin tone it used to have...I'm just afraid the same thing will happen if I shave the hair on my arm, it will cause my skin color on my arm will become paler. My sister says when you shave A LOT (I shave pretty much..every week), it WILL cause your skin to be lighter, because everytime you are shaving, you are shaving off the top layer of your skin or w/e. >.< I know there is always tanning, and stuff, but I just like my natural tan skin tone.

^ What the hell? I don't think that's true.
I shave my arms, but then again the only reason that I do is because my mom won't let me wax them. ![]() |

Don't *shave your arms anymore, that's number one.
Sorry I said wax before. Silly me. Number two, try something a little less...blade-related to remove hair. Since stuff like the Nair hair removal cream and other lotions and mousses get closer to the hair root, the results last longer and won't have the same effects as shaving, i.e. more noticeable hair. Also try waxing. It's the best way to remove hair for longer periods of time and not to have more noticeable hair grow back. I've never tried dyeing arm hair, but that sounds like a good idea too. |

Yeah I wouldn't recommend shaving but I'm pretty sure you can bleach the hair on your arm. If you're tan most likely the hair on your arm is a darker color so if you bleach the hair, it should be less noticeable.

ohh say NO to shaving!! Definitely go with the hair bleaching. I've actually done it before. haha. It makes the hair lighter and it's not even noticable. You can buy it at walmart for under 5 dollars

That happened to me also. I had like barely any hair on my arms but i shaved it anyways just to see how it was like. But then more hair grew back, but to other people its nothing. There's still like nothing on my arm. The hair doesn't grow back for me. Well it does, but like rarely anything. I also did it with my legs, and massive hair started growing out. T_T

....what?! shaving off the top layer of your skin would leave your arms raw. raw skin. are you nuts? ehh..I guess I wasn't clear. it doesn't like..RIP off the top layer of your skin, she just kinda meant it makes your skin lighter when you shave, hardd to explain. I was just wondering if it was true?!?! Plus, when I shave, I get really lazy, so I usually just splash water on my legs, so it's not dry, and shave, I don't apply anything special on my legs before I shave. The only thing I apply is lotion (AFTER I shave)....>.< Could that be possibly why its gotten lighter?!?! I have another question....What's bleaching?!?! And like, what kind of product do I need to buy in order to bleach my hair? sorry...i've never heard of bleaching...I've heard of waxing though, but what exactly is it? I know the process of waxing, but what exactly do you buyy for waxing??! Sorry, the only thing I've done in my entired life is shave, and use hair remover lotion....so I'm pretty much new to this. |

^bleaching is special bleach meant for your arm hair that will not eliminate, but lighten the hair to where it isn't noticeable. It can be found in the beauty section with the lotions and waxers. Try Sally hanson's cream hair bleach.
Waxing is a process that removes the hair by spreading wax on the area then pressing a strip on the wax and quickly ripping it off. It will leave your arms smoother for longer than shaving and is said to keep your hair from growing back thicker |

I shave it. People talk about how it grows back darker and thicker, mine doesn't. Plus, why only shave it once? If you really want the hair off, keep on shaving it like you do any other part of your body that you shave.

if you are really uncomfortable with arm hair just shave it. or try to go to a salon professional. i use to shave my arms but i jus let the hairs grow out and they really dont seem visible unless you look at them hecka close lol.

shaving your arm hair to me is really unnecessary. not just because it's a problem to me, but i don't know. to me it's not something like shaving your legs or underarms. but if you have a problem with it, then go ahead and do whatever you feel you should do about it.
i know shaving makes the hair grow back differently, but it really just depends. i wonder if you can use NAIR for your arms.. i'm sure you can.. but idk, i think shaving arms is getting carried away. but not a problem, so if you want to, and it bothers you, then do it ![]() |
