Image mapping Options

hmm. i've taken several tutorials on image mapping, and i've gotten to the part where i edit it in microsoft word, then i go to xanga and use the look and feel page to preview the code. when i go to the page, it just has that little red box at the top of the corner in replace of the image, but i can still click on the link.



do i have to upload the picture itself and put it sopmewhere in the code?
