i'm assuming you have a pc so just hold down the 'Fn' button then press the Insert/Prnt Scrn button. open paint or photoshop or etc., and paste.

edit:
eh... my laptop is kinda different. so... find your Prnt Scrn button.

okay, so make sure the thing you want a screenshot of is open and on top. then find your Prnt Scrn button. If it's own button or if it shares a button with another function but is on top, just press Alt+Prnt Scrn. If it's part of another function, like Prnt Screen is smaller and/or if Prnt Scrn is a different color (most likely blue), you have to hold down another key before pressing Prnt Scrn. i've seen keyboards with F mode or Fn and it's usually set apart as its own button in a different color.

after you finished pressing buttons, open a program like Paint, Photoshop or PSP and paste. your scree should appear.
