I'm bringing this back. I didn't know we have so many members! :)

I've noticed that South Asian (and Middle Eastern) style clothing is in these days. Shoes, clothes, bags, jewelry, etc. It's wonderful!

I saw a Caucasian woman wearing fake jhumkas, but they were pretty. For those who don't know, jhumkas are something like:

And I saw another woman wearing an Om locket. For those who aren't familiar with the symbol:

She said she was wearing it because it looked pretty not because of the meaning of the symbol or its religious ties, but it's all good.

And don't get me started on shoes!

gawsh darn where'd all the desis go? let's try to breathe life into this thing again shall we?
yeah the om is becoming a pretty big trend in my school. not so much the jewelry or shoes though. at the beginning of the year(when i didn't know about this trend) i saw this totally caucasian girl (blond hair blue eyes pinkish flush to pale skin) with an Om on her t-shirt so I was like ,"Oh! Are you Hindi?" and she just stared at me for the longest time like i was out of my mind then walked away.

^OMG, that's so annoying sometimes. Like, people just pick it out 'cause it's cool. Meh, whatever floats their boat.

Finally I can be in a place where no one expects me to be into bhangra all the time just because i'm Indian. :D

it's all in good fun though. I'd bet my friends don't know what Indian culture is like.
