Sorry if this is kind of off topic but Friday night my boyfriend and I were having sex and after we were done, we realized that I condom broke, and he ejaculated inside of me. I'm not on the pill (yet), so we both started to get scared and we decided to get emergency contraception. So Saturday morning we got it and I took the EC pills, but I'm still a little shaken up about it. I've never had unprotected sex, or never a mishap like this. I guess I'm scared of the possiblity the EC might not work.

Oh and another thing, my boyfriend was wondering if I could have been pregnant before the mishap. I've gained 6 pounds in the last couple months. I have a fast metabolism so gaining weight for me is rare. I used to be 93 lbs, then about a month and a half ago or so, I went up to 95, and then a couple weeks later, I went to 97, and today I'm 98 lbs. But I had my period 3 weeks ago, so that kinda makes me think no. And I think most of the weight has gone into my butt because my boyfriend noticed, even without me telling him I gained weight that he felt more junk in the trunk, and I see it too. Also, I haven't been feeling sick or anything either. I did have a stomche ache and a head ache yesterday but those were the common side effects of the contraception pills. I felt fine before the EC pills and I feel fine now. How long does it take for women to notice pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, breast tenderness, weight gain, etc)?

i must respect you. but the situation is simple. You knew the risks of having sex. And You knew the possiblities that could happen. If you find having a child at this age a hard thing to comprehend i recommend you stop. You yourself should know your not ready.

u werent pregnant before. your period is when your uterus discards the nutrient lining that it has developed in anticataption of u being pregnant. if u r pregnant, nothing happens. if u arent pregnant, the uterus discards the lining, and starts the cycle over again.

as for the EC, i dont know much about that. but your chances of getting pregnant are small to begin with, depending on where your at on your cycle, but u probably knew that. the EC will reduce the chances even more (how much is the question). the best thing i can say is to not worry about it cause that wont do u any good. the reality is i would probably freak out myself, but in the end u should be ok

a few months ago, i thought that my ex-gf was pregnant. I was stupid and we had unprotected sex, but only for like 5-10 minutes. She was barfing, she had lots of head ache, her stomic got fatter, she didn't have her peroid for 2 months...I was like shiet, i'm in the hole now. But then I prayed and after a while, she got her peroid back. I was so happy. So don't worry, uhm...wait a few weeks and go check it. It might be nothing.

if you got your period before you werent preg. but all you can really do is wait until it comes again (hopefully) or go to planned parenthood and get a preg. test (urine or blood, but blood costs money)...EC pills arent 100% but since you took it with in 3 days they have a higher chance of working. plus you said you had your period 3 weeks ago so your probably don with ovulation. but all you can do is wait. after 4 weeks if theres no blood, get a test.

call dr. drew

he knows a lot, but usually when people call in after taking the "morning after" pill, he says there is a really really small chance of getting pregnant.

if you had your period recently than you are not gonna get pregnant..you seem really new to these things and you must must get more info (with your bf to) on the risks and what are the first signs of pregnancy you are really not ready to have sex until both of you know what will happend and if you are ready for the after effects (if you get pregnant) good luck! =)

emergency contraception has an 88% success rate if used within the first 48 hours of unprotected sex. after that it drops down to like..60 and so forth. But as long as you took the pills the way you should u are probably okay. I've been there before...it sucks.
