It was 30° C this afternoon, I wore a little top. Anyways, this 'big' girl looked at me and said 'Oh my God, you're so thin, like a skeleton' and I was like 'Oh my God, you're so fat, as a ballon'. _unsure.gif She got really pissed off and insulted me.

My friends say I should apologize. Like hell I am. yawn.gif

People are crazy. Should I apologize?

Haha that made me laugh.

People don't realize that calling someone a skeleton is harmful.

I love it. Don't apologize. I hate the double standard that someone can call you skinny as a <insert comparison> but you can't respond likewise.

Hell no. Honestly, I believe that if you are going to say something stupid to someone, expect them to say it right back. There is no need to apologize to someone who insulted you first.

HAHAHHA, tahts hilarious.

no, i dont think you should say sorry. first off, being skinny like yourself, i dont appreciate it when people tell me im thin. "like a skeleton." it hurts and feels like what theyre trying to say is..,"ARE YOU ANOREXIC?!" second, its her fault shes fat unless its a family thing.

laugh.gif I probably would have said something like that. So no, no apology from me. Who says being skinny is all that great? [I'm skinny. People think I'm anorexic. No.]

Haha.
I'm neither skinny nor fat. Just in the middle, so I do both skeleton and balloon or w/e.
Personally, I probably wouldn't apologize... but it'd probably be the nice thing to do.

That is HILARIOUS. I would apologize though. For sure. She'll give you an apology too (hopefully), and you can make up, right? _unsure.gif Well, whatever. Haha, you are so cool.

Pfft, whatever. It's true, there can be such a double standard between calling people skinny and fat.

She probably didn't mean it as an insult - it seems like it was said with an envious tone, probably. But a lot of people seem to not realize that saying that someone is a "twig" or in your case, a "skeleton," may be just as hurtful as calling someone fat. If she seems very disconcerted and hurt by your comeback, maybe it would be a good idea to apologize. Then explain how her comment made you feel. =P

HAHAHHAHAH OUCH. "Hippo thighs". rofl1.gif HAHAHHAHA.

I'd apologize eventually, even if she did mean it in a mean way. Of course, I'm that sort of person, and I have a pretty naggish conscience.

It was funny though. rofl1.gif

Yes but *that's* the double standard. Why would any reference to extreme body type (skinny --- fat) be taken as a compliment?

^I know it shouldn't be taken as a compliment. That's why I think it should be explained to her how the comment made Weird addiction feel. Hm, I think the meaning behind her comment may be similar to someone with wavy hair saying "Oh, your hair is so straight!" But yes, comments about someone being skinny and comments about someone being fat usually are not taken as compliments, and it is perfectly understandable for people to take offense to either.

'You're so thin, like a skeleton' can be taken as a compliment? Anyways, I saw her today and I didn't apologized. I won't apologize... I'm still offended.

Hahaha, I wouldn't worry about her.

I would eventually apologize myself [knowing me], but she shouldn't have called you a "skeleton" in the first place.
