girl problems, USED to be a close friend.. Options

so basically, i'm a guy, this girl's my friend, and something happened. for a few months we were really close friends. then i kinda started developing a crush on her. she started acting weirder and seemed meaner for a while and we didnt talk as much. i kinda lost the crush i had on her, but i still felt weird about it. a few weeks after that i asked her if i could talk to her, and i talked about a bunch of stuff that had been bothering me. she wasnt very encouraging though. she called me hypocritical and a bunch of other crap, and just said "sorry, but its the truth". then i told her i felt weird because i sorta liked her a few weeks beforehand. then she started acting nicer and said she was happy i told her. i thought things might be better again. but instead, lately she seems like she doesnt want to talk to me at all. i don't get it. she seems happy when i talk to her, but she never starts any conversations with me anymore. she doesnt approach me much anymore in person, and online she always says shes busy with homework or something.

i just wanted to ask, is our friendship pretty much over? should i give up? she used to love talking to me and would come up to me all the time, but for some reason things changed. i don't get it. nothing caused it. at least on my part. i dunno. should i stop talking to her for a while and wait til she's less busy with homework? or should i keep trying to talk to her even if she seems to be avoiding me. gah this is so annoying.
