really need helpp.. seriously. >< i'm just starting to learn how to do websites.. if i have a code i want to use, how do i put it in so that it shows up when i go to my site?
my hosting thing is @ http://net2ftp.com/index.php click on the thumbnail below to see what i mean.. what do i do next? :^.^;;:

I believe you would click that little blue arrow to use your ftp..yet I'm not entirely sure.

well..I've never used an online FTP server before.
So I honestly recommend downloading a REAL FTP program to your computer. They're free and much easier to use. But if you still want to use this online FTP thing, then I think you're supposed to upload your file to the main directory. That means you don't put your pages in any of those folders. I may be wrong. But think about what I said in the beginning. Smart FTP is free and easy to use. There's even a tutorial on it. |

yes. i tried doing what you said, and it worked.. however, when i went to the page, it showed the code in html form, not the layout.. what form am i supposed to save the code when i upload it?

ok, ok.
it all depends on which file format you saved your file in. if it doesn't contain any .php codes, then it's best to save it in .htm format. |

^Another good extension is .html, I understand a lot of people use that.

ohh.. ok, so let me get this straight one more time.. :^.^;;: basically, if you have a code, could you save it in like Notepad w/ an ext of .html for example? would that work? xP

Try saving it in the "yourfile.html" format or in the "yourfile..htm" format.
See what happens. |
