...Now What?, Not that anything's happened to begin with, but w/e... Options

Hii... I've been watching these forums for a while now, and I noticed that the ppl here are really helpful, so I finally decided to make an account. ^-^ I've got an intro somewhere out there, so I won't elaborate. >.> And anyways, this is good timing, since I have a few personal 'relationship' questions that I've been thinking about recently.

Oh, and sorry if I sound self-centered for this, but I'm really confused, and I don't know what to do. ><;; These aren't really problems, but more of thoughts...

Okay, so there are these popular guys are school, and I really like this one guy, who we'll call, uhh.... Akira. Yeah, that's Japanese for “light”. ^^ We don't hang out/talk or anything, since he's 'popular' and I'm more on the 'nerd/anime otaku' side... You know, the kind of person that doesn't go on dates & that kinda stereotype. Anyways, he mostly hangs out with these other three guys, who we'll call, umm... Kyle, Will & David. Kyle likes to bug me for some reason, and likes to call out my name in the lunch lines oftentimes to annoy me (I think he does it to other ppl too). Will & David don't do much.

A few months back (my friends claim it was V-Day, though I honestly don't know) in February, one of my really hyper & bouncy friends went down at brunch (we have a brunch at our middle school... Oh, and we're all in eighth grade, BTW) and told Akira that I liked him, and that I had for two years. She's really impulsive (not repulsive!) & hyper, although she says she regretted it afterwards. So after she told him, she came back to us, and Akira's friends (sorry if this is confusing, but the ppl who were there wasn't Kyle, Will & David, it was another group of friends, so they aren't in the story yet) teased him from then on about it. I think that he's probably embarrassed about it, but he covers it really well.

We have last period together (he happens to sit in front of me), and during that time, I told him that was my friend had said was a joke, and he should ignore it. He said, “Good” in an off-hand manner, but I dunno if he meant it as “okay then”, or actually “Yay, I'm relieved.” The scene died down after that.

About a week ago, my friend, Kitty & I went to the park after school, and Akira & his friends (Kyle, etc) were there. As I was passing, Kyle started following Kitty and I (his friends followed), and he was yelling out really dumb stuff at me, like, “Hey, are you a virgin?” & “Akira has something, really, REALLY important to ask you!” Kitty and I ignored them and eventually left to go somewhere else, but it was still really embarrassing.

I dunno, Kyle's been doing that a lot lately. There was a school dance last week, and he came up to me, saying that Akira wanted to dance the next slow dance with me; I'm kinda sure that he probably made that up. And after the dance, while Hyper, Kitty & I were waiting to get picked up by Hyper's mom, Akira & his friends were passing us (going to someone's house), and his friends were making comments as we passed.

My friends think that he's a jerk (stereotypes for jocks, you know), but he's never been mean to me, ever. That's why I like him in the first place. I keep on feeling that he's just really embarrassed & doesn't want anything to do with me, which I can completely understand. I mean, he himself hadn't made a comment/said anything in our past encounters with our friend groups, but I dunno. Yesterday, when I was walking to last period (the one with Akira), Kyle, Will & Akira were coincidentally in the hallways at different places, talking, and after I passed them, Akira started walking right in front of me to our classroom. He kept looking back at me (& his friends, maybe?) as if he were teasing me or something. Maybe he was, considering what a weirdo I am.... -.-'

So I don't know what to do now. I feel really bad about this all and dragging Akira into this mess in the first place, but I want to see what he thinks. Do you think he finds this embarrassing, amusing or what? We're both in Student Council, and he's always being such a good sport. I know that Akira's a good guy... I dunno, nowadays I don't know what to say or do when I pass their group, and that irks me. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any advice for me, or if anyone can tell me what's going on in the minds of those guys... especially Akira. Thanks in advance!
